@mickb this isn’t out of character for Fulton . They either did no due diligence (very possible) or they knew this would happen and didn’t care (also possible).

my guess is that part of it was due to the sheens/board factional fighting. It was a power play to kill McDonnell and end sheens’ tenor. It’s just a bizarre situation and clearly Fulton feels he has the support of Chairman 🎩

This board has to go.

Including Chair & CEO IMO. Burn it to the ground and rebuild

So he did.....
We've been linked with Best, Laui and Olam (plus Staines?)
If we can snag all of 3 it completely transforms our backline
7 Laui
6 Sullivan
5 Tupou
4 Best
3 Olam
2 Staines
1 Bula
With: Nadin, Toa, AD, Nofa, Kepoa, Feledy, Fainu all fighting for spots
Gives us a skilful, cocky, strong and fast backline.
Scoring tries was put weak piont last year- surely a backline like this is scoring plenty

The Wests Tigers have signed a powerhouse Fijianprop who made his Test debut in the recent Pacific Championships.
Gordon Whippy, 21, is expected to start on a development contract but could move up to NRL level after his impressive performance when given his chance at the elite level by Fiji.
Whippy is a superb natural athlete, having represented Fiji in both swimming and athletics before deciding to concentrate his efforts in rugby league.
He began with the Raiders as a raw teenager three years ago and then had stints with Souths juniors and most recently with Ipswich Jets in the Hostplus Cup.
"Gordon has done a great job and this is a big opportunity for him," his manager, former NSW and Kangaroos star Matt Adamson told Wide World of Sports.
"He is big and strong and still has a lot to learn but he is very keen and the Tigers should be a good for for him."
Tigers coach Benji Marshall has shown he is prepared to give youth a go and is certain to closely monitor Whippy's form on the training paddock and in the pre-season trials.

Sounds like he could be the final piece in our premiership puzzle.

@helmesy a colleague of mine said she ran into Benji in Fiji recently and he said the club is setting up a pathway through Fiji. This could be the first of a few

Reilly and BWM released, so that frees up two spots in the top 30. I imagine Staines will be taking one of those immediately given that he's been at training this week.
Still a fair bit of deadweight in that top 30 that really shouldn't be near FG.

BWM not a first grade option but this still leaves us short for edge back rowers doesnt it? Blore has not returned to training which means he is packing up to move to Melbourne most likely?
If Papalii or Bateman go down then as it stands we are looking at:
- Samuela Fainu?
- Tumeth?
- Seyfarth?
