Olakau'atu comes over from manly in 2025 (takes Ice's spot)
He's signed until the end of 2025, and seemingly about to extend for several years beyond that. I don't know why this one keeps getting brought up.
he has had an extension on the table for some time and still hasn't extended past 2025
Apparently he has.
lol yes an hour or so ago
Just a gut feel but I think Luai will remain at Penrith, and I don't think that's a bad thing for us. Spending in excess of $1m for a player like Moses made sense, because you knew exactly what you were going to get. That's not the case with Luai at all. Yes, he's played internationals in the 7, but can he make it as an elite 7 in the NRL? I'm not so sure.
We are easily the worst club in the NRL, probably one of the worst professional sports teams in the country, and overpaying is something we must do, but I think it has to be on the right players.
I'd feel a lot better signing some wingers and centres, and one or two middles and giving Sullivan and Fainu a chance in '24.
@avocadoontoast No one with credentials will come to the Tigers until the club turns itself around off and on the field ….the word would be out right through the league the Tigers are a no go ! This can change and quickly but this remains to be seen , unfortunately with a head coach and 2 assistants with no coaching qualifications this will be hard and an administration in tatters what more needs to be said . The club will have to go with what they have a young roster hopefully hungry for success ! No excitement for 24 one thinks but hopefully some signs for the future. I must say there is a lot of tunnel vision happening ATM the eyes are off the prize in general all seems to be all in one basket !
The Wests Tigers are the first club in the four-way race for Addin Fonua-Blake’s signature to make a formal offer to the New Zealand Warriors forward.
It’s believed the Tigers have tabled a four year deal from 2025 worth around $1 million per season.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
$1 Million a season for Luai and AFB. Somebody has a big Monopoly Set. Does anybody think we should be looking for a pair of Centres? I do.
The Frog
As (almost ... lol) always, I agree with your thoughts here. A good summation of where things are with WT heading into 2024.@avocadoontoast No one with credentials will come to the Tigers until the club turns itself around off and on the field ….the word would be out right through the league the Tigers are a no go ! This post is factually incorrect. Unless you believe Api, Papallii, Bateman and the best junior prosepct in the game don't have credentials.
"factually incorrect"?? That's a big stretch. You're offering a different opinion, nothing factual about it other than that's what you believe. It's ok for others to believe otherwise. Surely?@avocadoontoast No one with credentials will come to the Tigers until the club turns itself around off and on the field ….the word would be out right through the league the Tigers are a no go ! Can you honestly say Api Koroisau has no credentials? I'm more then happy to call it a fact that Api has credentials.
Wests Tigers player refuses to train over perception of unfair treatment

New Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall faces the first test of his career as one of his highest-paid players refuses to turn up to training over a perception of unfair treatment from the club.
Winger David Nofoaluma, a former teammate of Marshall and the greatest try-scorer in the club’s history, has not been to training since last Wednesday in response to what he claims is poor treatment from the club’s football department.
Nofoaluma has also lodged a complaint with the Rugby League Players’ Association over the conduct of the club.
A meeting between Nofoaluma, the RLPA and Wests Tigers was held on Thursday night.
Sources with knowledge of the situation talking under the condition of anonymity due to the confidential nature of discussions told this masthead that Nofoaluma’s gripe with the Tigers relates to how he has been treated at training.
Nofoaluma struggled physically and with his fitness levels upon returning to pre-season training last month and was one of the team’s least impressive performers in a time trial.
Marshall and his new-look coaching staff are trying to drive a new standard at the club and haven’t shown preferential treatment to the veteran winger.
Nofoaluma reached his limit last week and complained about the communication between him and the football department, as well as the training methods that have been adopted to try and improve his fitness.
At Thursday night’s meeting between the club and the RLPA, Nofoaluma agreed that he would return to training on Monday in an attempt to resolve the matter.
Nofoaluma, the RLPA and Wests Tigers have been contacted for comment.
Nofoaluma still has two more years to run on his deal with the Tigers at about $500,000 per season but has struggled to cement his place in the team recently.
The Tigers have been trying to offload the winger to a rival club for the past two years and even lent him to the Melbourne Storm at the end of 2022 as part of a loan deal for the final few games of the season and the finals series.
Nofoaluma has scored 100 tries from 192 games for the Tigers since his debut for the joint venture club in 2013.
His services have been offered to rival clubs on numerous occasions over the past two years but the Tigers haven’t been able to agree on the amount they would contribute as part of his release.
Nofoaluma has also attracted interest from the Super League.
My opinion of Marshall as coach has gone up a peg. The sooner we get rid of Nofo the better. Terrible player with a terrible attitude.
avo no one wants him!! thanks to Lee and his big 500k a year contract, Melbourne sent him back as soon as they could, no other club wants him and the only chance we have is if he goes to Su er League.. at least Benji is setting standards which i really like and i believe everyone else would love it , maybe not Blore as he wants out to join the Storm.
@avocadoontoast We all know this type of behaviour has been happening for years by the players … egg shells and all that .The only way this team will drag itself off the bottom will be dedication and a lot of hard work …. NUFFIE is the epitome of what has been wrong with this club for a decade . The last of the LOSERS !

None of Nofoaluma's 100 tries have contributed to the tigers getting in the semi finals
I couldn’t help but laugh when I read this comment.
“Nofoaluma reached his limit last week and complained about the communication between him and the football department”.
I mean what does David expect when the majority of his vocabulary consists of Yeah Nah! Nah Yeah!.
