@helmesy does this read like it’s putting pressure on the tigers to hurry up ?
As in “Tapau can’t sign , until you sign brown . You’re messing with people’s careers!”
Any article written by the Tele about the tigers but not about the tigers , eg. player signings , transfers , retention , recruitment , backflipping . I take as crap . Or written for another persons/teams agenda . Never is it just reporting the facts with Murdoch Media .

There’s some negotiating going on between Tim and Mark O’Neill for sure. They want to get Taupau locked in but need us to take Brown. We’re all of a sudden in a somewhat commanding position…probably also trying to steal their halfback 😆 I note that Sheens was talking up Simpkin in the radio interview - Eels need a young hooker as backup and who might be a longer term option for them.

@helmesy yep! I don’t think Simpkin is the preferred hooker of choice here . Gluts obviously Da Silva . If Da Silva is Robbie 2.0 ( a big wrap , I’m just using as a descriptor , not actually saying that ) then Simpkin is probably Jake Friend lite . Which is still a great footy player .

Id be telling Buckets......"We will take Brown after Moses signs somewhere....and put your pants back on".
Tallyn De Silva is still too young/small. Need Simpkin for at least another year.
@lestronge Great post. I’ve often thought footy fans need a scapegoat to give them a simplistic way of dealing with a larger problem. We’re generally a lazy bunch and don’t want to analyse, research etc so we look for an answer that seems popular and jump on board, if most people are thinking the same way as me then I must be right eh. Not saying criticism is not valid at times, just looking at a broader picture of fan behaviour. I think it’s pretty complex too.
From the Pom
The club submitted its “final” offer to Mitch Moses this week. 4 year deal outright. Apparently last deal was 3 year + 1 year mutual option.
$5mill over the 4 year period. His management indicated a decision will be made next week.
From the Pom
Jesse Ramien will stay at Cronulla, was some internal discussion but no offer towards him at the point.
In relation to RTS he’s been discussed before & nothing has come across my way in relation to a meeting in NZ. If he’s serious about coming back to the NRL the club is certainly keen to entertain that idea.
30th spot will be a player who can play 1-5 of sorts. But Sheens has a plan for that last spot.
Nathan Brown is still a chance, one more spot is expected to be freed up for with an off contract 2023 player on the move.
From the Pom
Re further 2024 signings
Farnworth has told keens clubs he’s waiting on Broncos offer before seeing what’s out there. Expect that to develop mid January.
Nothing on Welsby
From the Pom re Ken M
Sounds like there’s plenty happening. Seems like big Ken might be the man to make way for Brown.

Kenny is another year older and was looking pretty broken towards the end of last year, but I feel he is a little undervalued by the fan base.
He was strong bringing the ball back from kicks (I felt more confident when he brought it back then when Laurie or any of the other wingers did), he had some handy highlights under the high ball, and obviously was well respected by the playing group to be one of the many captains under Madge.
I think it will be a good result if he takes up an offer in super league, but just wanted to acknowledge his contributions and value to the team.
Im a big fan of junior tupou and looking forward to him stepping up at some point.

Well said, Ken’s hard work and effort are worth acknowledging for sure 👍 I think though that it might be time for him to transition to the Super League.
