Agree with recent positive posts on Fifita... on a subsidised deal it's a no brainer!
If you could have a fit and focussed Fifita (three f’s) I’d say see ya later to Galvin next week.
Who would you play at 6?
If Fifita was here and in the right frame of mind and running off Luai on the left (moving Samuela to the right) you could play Doueihi or Latu at six.
AD should never play in the halves again and I don't think Latu is available next week.

do we need both? Can we use both?

@the-frog the we shoudk go after Wong Roosters seem like clearing the deck for DCE or Galvin

Roosters are only interested in a sure thing, he has already embarrassed uncle Nick once. They only recruit players at the top of their game
I can’t imagine that Fifita would be a good fit at the roosters. He seems exactly like the signings that haven’t worked out for them the past few years. The roosters are a very strange club, they had success with the Cronk, sbw signings but it’s largely been poor since trying to replicate that. I would expect the eels might be interested in Fifita given where they sit on the table. The dogs really are the ones that need DCe, he probably wins them a premiership next year if he goes there.

we need DCE him and luai along with api and bula can get us to top 4
Get on it Richo with a last ditched offer

I’ve heard from a pretty close source that DCE is off overseas. I could go with a Fainu Luai Api with Bula at 1 in ‘26. And for me our fullback is our ace moving forward.I can’t imagine that Fifita would be a good fit at the roosters. would think the Roosters are either clearing the decks for DCE, Manu, doubt DCE goes to SL
As for Latu i am not sold on him as our 7 or 6 long term, I would still like us to pursue Reynilds for a year if we miss DCE
Unless Benji thinks he can keep Galvin focused and motivated for a tilt at finals footy in 2026 (im talking at least a semi). I think he will have to bite the bullet and play Latu and Luai in the halves sooner rather than later. Once latu is fit he needs some reps in first grade getting used to the flow of play in both attack and defence. I liken him to a Katoa type of player and it has taken Katoa a season in and out of the team to really synch with the rest of the team and find his feet. Having Luai as a dominant half will help Latu adjust more quickly, however he still needs time. If we persist with Galvin we may be getting some short term benefit for longer term pain. My fear is he signs a contract in Nov and pretty much coasts for 2026. At the moment he is still in the shop window and his body language after the dragons game was not great, Jerome stepping up and owning the kicking and attack really showed the quality that Galvin still does not have.

I think if galvin does stay for 2026 (no better value half in the competition) then latu has to hit the pine. We should not change a winning team even if latu is fit just to give latu some games time in the halves. Latu can do what Pezet does for storm and play his trade in reserve grade for 2026
Come 2027 latu should be ready and proving he can stay on the paddock.
If galvin does leave in 2026 (don't think he will) then maybe latu gets his shot.
I am as impressed by Latu Fainu as I am by Galvin. I don't see Galvin as being superior.
So, if Galvin wants out, then give Latu opportunities to develop his understanding and combinations with those who will be here longer term and use Galvin in what ever other role that benefits the club. If that's NSW Cup or 14 -17 in NRL, then so be it.
It's a no-brainer to me.
