🚨 Facebook rumour alert 🚨

Francis Molo to the Tigers 🐅

I had to look his name up to be honest and wasn’t excited after doing so 😬

He has had an interesting career to say the least! 😯

He’s A Milford’s cousin…..says a lot. I think we have enough lazy players in the squad thanks.

If not for his recent contract drama I wouldn't know who Molo is... in saying that, coming over might be a good thing.

Klem has been reliable but no longer has impact and I believe he plays within himself these days. It could be argued it's professionalism that he clocks on, gets his metres and makes his tackles, then bundies off again but that's not what a player on this salary should be contributing.

Maybe Molo could be more dynamic for us?

Interesting that Molo isn’t listed to play for the dragons this weekend but did play last weekend 👀

I think that was Michael Molo that played in last weeks trial game.

Woods on triple M said klemmer had been told he was going to play 13 games.and that is it, (so clause doesn't get enacted for 2026) with that he has probably wanted to move on, he said he was surprised klemmer didn't play last week

interesting fainu commented in his article today that bird has been training lock se and row and centre. He will probably be the 14 so maybe we don't end up carrying latu fainu or tds on bench when api is back

DISGRUNTLED STAR EYES RETURN

Which player switched clubs in 2024 and now realises he made a terrible mistake?

The player - one of the biggest-name signings from last season - isn't happy in his new surroundings and would love nothing better than to return to his old club for 2026.

The former club would take him back in a heartbeat … IF they could find room in the salary cap.

Time will tell.

I wonder if that is Stefano ?

now if you could somehow swap klemmer for Stef now we are talking

I doubt it is Stefano. Maybe someone at the Dragons.

Spencer Leniu is my tip. It's a player that moved across for season 24, Stefano only moved fo this season.

if we do let klemmer leave, hopefully we are at least looking at tom hazleton from sharks (would be better than Molo)

from a tigers point of view would that leave only Tumeth and Galvin as Isaac Moses players at the club ?

Hazelton would be a good get! Yep, they’re the last two Moses clients I believe.

David Klemmer’s likely move to St George Illawarra will give Wests Tigers a war chest of up to $1 million to further add to one of the NRL’s most extensive roster overhauls.

After initially denying his request, the Dragons have granted Francis Molo permission to negotiate with other clubs. That move will cause a domino effect that is expected to result in Molo moving on and Klemmer coming in to replace him. It is a significant development for the Red V, who will be able to replace one former State of Origin prop with another.

Molo’s destination remains unclear, but there is no thought of a straight swap. Tigers coach Benji Marshall is happy with his front-row rotation, which includes Terrell May, Royce Hunt, Fonua Pole, Alex Twal, Alex Seyfarth and Samuela Fainu.

Klemmer hasn’t officially asked for a release but, given he hasn’t been selected in the Tigers’ two trial matches to date, has almost certainly played his last game for the club. The Tigers already have room in their salary cap and, pending the payout figure for Klemmer, could have up to seven figures to splurge on more signings.

Instead of spending their money on a prop, the Tigers can look at other positions after an aggressive recruitment drive already netted Jarome Luai, Sunia Turuva, May, Hunt, Jack Bird and Jeral Skelton.

Klemmer is on a deal worth about $675,000 a season, about $100,000 more than Molo’s annual salary at the Red V. The former Knights and Bulldogs forward would automatically trigger a contract extension if he played a reported 14 games this year for the Tigers, but that contractual clause is expected to soon become a moot point.

The Dragons initially had no appetite to release Molo, who claimed to take exception to a comment made by a staffer. The Maroons front-rower has been on leave for several weeks and has now almost certainly played his last game for the club.

The Red V are seeking compensation, the final sticking point before a release is agreed.

“The club’s concern has been Frank’s welfare,” said Dragons chairman Andrew Lancaster.

“Frank and his manager have been told they can officially talk to other clubs, but if they want a release from the contract Frank entered into, then the Dragons will require adequate compensation.”

Klemmer’s likely arrival will be a boost for the Dragons, who pulled out of negotiations with Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Daniel Saifiti, Stefano Utoikamanu and Terrell May.

Molo, meanwhile, could potentially earn more money elsewhere given the dearth of quality props on the market.

However, it could mark the last time a player who breaks their contract can agree to a pay rise elsewhere.

ARL Commission chairman Peter V’landys has flagged the prospect of head office stopping the practice of players agitating for a release and then immediately walking into a more lucrative job.

“I’m an old-fashioned person and if you do a contract, you honour it,” V’landys told this masthead last week.

“A contract is a contract, unless there are circumstances well beyond your control – if it’s unforeseen, then fair enough. You get the benefits of the contract, so you should honour the contract, that’s my view.”

the loss of klemmer makes clear again how silly it was to lose Papalli. Not sure which backrower is going to be available for a mid season transfer

If Klemmer goes to STGI, then so be it. He provided diddly squat for WT so no loss at all. For mine, the only commonality of his link from WT to STGI is that both Marshall and Flanagan are better suited to commentating on the NRL as opposed to coaching within it.

Not fussed on losing Klemmer - but only if we're able to use that money well. If not, would rather keep him around.

My View on Klemmer is that he is surplus to requirements, yes, he throws up some decent stats however does not bend the line in attack or hit hard in defense. I believe a Tim Johansen would dish up the same and so does Alex Twal. Tim could probably play more minutes at a higher level as well, and on significantly lower $$. Klem would have seen the writing on the wall regarding this season and next and I am sure he is looking for a 2 year deal elsewhere, hopefully it was a mutual agreement to part ways. Second row is the real issue at the club, so hopefully there is a plan in place to address this. The horse may have bolted on a quality 2RF for season 25 however perhaps the extra $ in the bank help us position ourselves going into 26. The $ could also come in handy as we shred a few of our top 30 centers and wingers that do not step up this year and we buy some quality for 26..........did anyone say Kotoni?
