There hasn't been much around extending TDS unless I am missing something isn't he able to go to market in November?

Not until next November. He’s under contract 2025/26.

Ah rightio, I thought it was this November. Phew!

@tiger5150 Colour me unexcited and unsurprised. What other genuine talent would even think about coming here?  Unless it's for $1.4million per year which is massive overs for Luai, who will probably miss the season after colliding with Benji in a pre-season training run. I mean that's how hapless and stupid this farce of Marshall as head coach has become.

Well, let's face it, frogs are not known for their intellect and understanding of irony, so no surprise for that comment of yours. Maybe you need your swamp drained?

I thought as a club we would have learned from signings such as Bird. He was a very good player in his day but his body is no longer up to it. Matt Ballin and Josh Reynolds come to mind.

I think this is a little more low risk than those. Reynolds was signed on huge money for 4 years as a panic signing. Ballin was completely broken when we got him. Bird is only a 2 year deal, and if it's $400k and he plays say 15 games in a season, that's a win. IF he stays injury free, it's a complete bargain.  We've factored his injuries into the price. Bird is better than a $400k player (Simpkin was reportedly on $400k).

I'm usually the first to put the boot in but this deal actually is pretty smart. Low risk, potentially high reward. Covers centre, lock and back row, even halves if desperate.

Definitely only $400k, a little less next year.

I thought it stated we had talked to Montoya not that he signed.
