Sounds like he had a good first game back in NSW Cup.

Is he a chance for the NRL side in coming weeks?

As long as Api is back or there is another goal kicking option then yeah think Doueihi can make way.

He only played 40 minutes apparently. Surely he needs at least one full run of 80 minutes before being considered for first grade

Richo gave a strong endorsement of Taylan May towards the tail end of this interview, just before the Roosters game.

3 tries and 80 minutes.

I kind of want to see him in NRL side.

I realise Doueihi just had a decent game though.

I’m expecting we get May to left centre/douhie to 14 this week. Twal to start at 13 and then douhie to come on and play first receiver after the first 25minutes.

That said I think it’s a bit harsh the criticism of Latu/Luai given Luai was in origin camp all last week and then he fly to NZ after a big defeat for NSW.

How good was he today? A great addition to the team. I wouldn't wait too long before putting a longer term contract in front of him.

Welcome! Agree completely.

Raises another issue, does To’a become redundant with Makasini coming in?

something is going on with Toa’s contract. He was meant to sign a month ago but it’s gone cold since Taylan got here. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Toa go back to Newcastle, they seem to be on a drive to bring back local juniors post Obrien

This scenario is one that separates us from the successful clubs. It shouldn't make Toa redundant, but rather push them to compete and create some depth for the club. More likely that he will sign elsewhere instead.

Toa is NZ born and raised. He's been interviewed about it and said he's moved to Aus for footy and has lived by himself ever since.

I hope we re-sign Toa but I also hope we can sign Dane Gagai.

Personally I would release Luke and Kit L from the final year of their contracts in order to sign Gagai and Tyson Frizzell.

WT needs more experience for 2026 and the Laulilii's are not anywhere big enough to be above average NRL players long term.

@joel I think May plays centre on the left side and Makasini must start on the wing outside him.

To play left hand carry players on the right side is never a good idea. We've done the reverse with AD at left centre all year and he just keeps trying to run infield.

What an impressive debut, that's the strike we've been missing all season and set up 2 tries for Skeleton. We now have 2 genuine strike centres and Makasini waiting in the wings. He only had a game and a half before that performance which speaks volumes.
