If Sheens hasn't been in control of the club/team since he sacked madge, then who has?
I'm excited about where he's moving things, but he's been in control of this club for 6 months. I don't know how he distance himself from the back end of last season.
For the record sheens:
- appointed Kimmorley, who had no 1st class coaching experience
- Moved Hastings to 13
- Rested Ute and Twal
- Let go of Noffa, Gillart, Mikaele
- appointed himself as coach and GM
- he has now swapped Hastings with klemmer and stains for peachy.
The other signings were made prior to sheens taking control.
You missed one - Sacked Madge.
IMO each one of those decisions were the right one except I probably would have appointed Gardiner as interim coach.
I said he sacked madge.
My point is Sheens had been head of the team for 6 months - it wasn't Kimmorley making decisions.
There's 6 months body of decisions to start making judgement - positive or negative.
If you say all but one are good decisions, @mercyrule can equally say they aren't.
For what is worth- I agree most decisions have been good, except Gardiner, Hastings and the biggest one not letting go of Brooks.
Pinning your destiny to Brooks as the main playmaker is a very very brave decision.

There isnt 6 months body of decisions to start making judgement at all. Tim Sheens hasnt spent any time coaching this team at all prior to NOv 1. You cant make any judgement on his coaching. He has had more than 6 months as general management football and again, IMO made the right calls so far.
I also didnt say @mercyrule isnt entitled to his opinion, or even that he was wrong. I actually asked how he came to that conclusion.

Sheens was head of football department when we signed Api and Ice.
the best thing he’s done though is sack Madge. Deadset worst coach I’ve ever seen. A wish.com version of Terry Lamb.
The season was over when he sacked Madge. He didn’t do any coaching whatsoever. His job was to completely change the playing style and make roster changes for 23, and he’s done that. I’m excited for next season for the first time in years.

Kimmorley 100% was making decisions around the team, the only one Sheens stepped in on was Hastings to 13.

Sorry guys.
Feels like I've pressed a button.
I'm very excited about what Sheens, benji and farah can do.
But that doesn't mean they are entitled to get a free pass without any critic at all.
The end of last season was the worst experience I've had as a football fan. Sheens oversaw it and was responsible for it.
We just got rid of 2 good halfbacks and we are currently hanging all our hopes on Brooks.
He coached us for 10 years and we made the finals 3 times.
So, my question to you, is what would a successful coaching term from Sheens this time around look like for you?

we make the top 8 THIS season. Simple. Anything else is unacceptable in my eyes
The first step is being competitive again, I think we have the players to achieve this.
Then it is on Sheens and co to take us up a level to be a team that wins more than it losses, that’s where we can really assess Sheens effectiveness and strategies.

It really depends on what we're able to do in terms of recruitment/retention between now and rd 1 '23. Not only for 2023, but for 2024.
I think we'll need to be a top 8 team by '24, and an upwardly mobile one at that. That means young players improving, more signings coming aboard to make us a real threat in '25.
I don't think you can afford to scorch the earth like we did this year without a very quick reaction.
Sorry guys.

I want to see us competing for the 8 this year, I am not on Steve's Top 8 or die bandwagon but want to see us pushing for the 8 in 23 and inside it in 24.

Mate, you haven't pressed a button, you've reminded us of the reality.
I'm with you 100% in noting the role of Sheens in "leading" the club to its first ever wooden spoon in 2022.
I'm in the reality camp. Not the fantasy camp.
@tiger5150 sooo top 8 then. ?
@tiger5150 sooo top 8 then. ?
Im not sure what you are referencing LeStronge, but FWIW I dont think we will make the 8 next year but for me 9-11 would be a successful year and springboard for 24. Top 8 would be an incredible achievement.
@tiger5150 just saying our forwards are good and our backs are rubbish . That puts us to 8 …. Doesn’t it lol . I can wish can’t I ! ? Haha
