I just voted for Flanagan. I'll support whoever they get but the idea of CC being some sort of a messiah astounds me. I think Flanagan is a better option.

Earl, I understand the logic that CC is untested as an NRL head coach, thats undeniable, but as someone who is on the Ciraldo or bust bus, let me explain my rationale.

IMO Sheens and the club are right that we need a development coach. We can not compete with the big guns when signing establish stars so we need to make our own and as importantly improve them as players once they hit first grade. Ive seen many people say that Ciraldo could be another Barrett and its just the massive Penrith junior talent that makes them look good. Ciraldo was responsible for that Junior talent, Barrett wasnt. Ciraldo has been developing these kids all the way through to hand them to Cleary on a platter. We need that here.

On top of that, reportedly Ciraldo is Penrith defensive coach. Penriths current defence is as good as Ive seen ever.

On top of that, Ciraldo is getting a first hand knowledge of all of Penriths systems, we would be buying their IP.

I think that there is an argument that Ciraldo is responsible for Penrith success more than Cleary. Cleary coaching Penrith without Ciraldo resulted in him looking "tired" and getting the sack. Cleary coaching Penrith with Ciraldo (and his son at 7), he is a supercoach creating a dynasty.

That is enough for me to say..........Ciraldo or bust!!! (c) Garry

@tiger5150 i’d add that what I have heard from Ciraldo he seems a much smarter operator than Barrett who came across as a footy head.

the update from Michelle Bishop re ciraldo this morning.

She is close with most of the player managers and you'd think that Ciraldo is not coming based on this.

Pretty embarrassing look for the club if this plays out. Announcing a preferred candidate to anyone who'd listen was a dangerous tactic and highly unprofessional. The best course of action was always to interview multiple candidates and make them compete for the job.

When we run our press conference for the new coach now the first question will be 'how does it feel to be a backup option?"

I cant say Im surprised but just so disappointed in management 🙁

I agree with the first part but I'm skeptical about the second part. I think our coaches should in some ways be interchangeable in that they shouldn't be a significant issue in relation to our performance. They need to be professional but at that pay rate I'd be professional. I reckon Madge or Tigers management or maybe it's luck has left us in a good spot because I don't see any real dud signings in our team in relation to their impact on the cap. There may be an argument Brooks salary is too high but he only has a contract for next season. I reckon he has given us pretty good service as well.

I don't believe it's that easy to improve players or maybe better put the coaching system should be professional enough so that players can develop their games. I'm skeptical that any coach can make someone a star. They have to have that ability including smarts or efforts. If they do chuck them anywhere and they will get it done.

If it was possible to get a coach who was a genius and who can change the game that would change things but that is a high risk low probability event. Ciraldo could be that coach. I just don't see any proof that he is.

I like your the IP idea though but it's not sure thing. Madge had pretty good IP. I reckon the team as a whole slightly underperformed their potential with Madge at the helm. He definitely isn't that genius coach that comes along every so often.

I'm fine with whoever they pick. I'm just biased against Ciraldo now but it's because of the media dribble around him.

I'm not until it is announced that someone else is coming.

If we do miss out on him after the way we’ve spoken publicly it will be very embarrassing.

It's not looking good

If we do miss out - the board really need to look at the negotiation skills they have available either on the board or in admin.

As their have been a number of high profile misses including JAC and latrell

Most boards will bring in a 'deal making' businessman who can come in and seal the deal.

Even if Cilardo does come through in the end.

We shouldn't of let it drag on this long - cronulla sack Morris and announced Fitsgibbon on the same day.

They had a plan and executed it, we’re making it up on the hop.

I wasn’t joking when I said we were the worst run professional sports team in the country.

The weight of evidence is overwhelming.

It may be that Ciraldo has control over when it is announced.

Even if that was the case

That's still not good reflection on the club

Club is all in on Ciraldo and we have the weakest hand to play in the NRL. It is what it is

It’s Latrell and Jac all over again. A bunch of amateurs posing as professionals that bottled it again. They’re morons
