I’ve been reading and hearing a fair bit about Masi the last few weeks. I’ve heard the usual comparisons like GI, Israel Folau and now Steven Crichton. They all make me laugh & shake my head. Masi is 18 and has a bright future, that’s it. He’s not going to come in and kill it, in fact I’d expect him to disappoint quite a few supporters early on as he adjusts to the speed and intensity of NRL. But he will also do some really good things. I only suggest this as I hope fans temper expectations and don’t place too much pressure on him. He’s very good but don’t expect the world straight away.

I mostly agree, but my Crichton comparison was just an observation that he "looks like", not that he is as good etc.
True, there's a lot of hype and we've mostly been let down in the past - it would be nice though to have a player come through and be a real star (we kind of got used to this with Marshall, Tedesco etc.).

Yes, I guess the headgear and the try last week probably brought the image of Crichton to our thoughts. I think right now we might be best making comparisons with what the Panthers have done with Casey McLean. Masi is yet to debut but perhaps he could go down the same kind of path & trajectory of McLean come the next 12 months which is a damn good part to follow.I’ve been reading and hearing a fair bit about Masi the last few weeks. Skelton has had a good year and Taylan has been wonderful since he’s joined the team. Turuva also looks to have a ready made connection with Taylan having shifted to the left. Toa was elite the first half of the season until his injury and can genuinely beat his man one on one. If all are healthy how do we fit all these guys into our 17?

I have no idea, other than to maybe move Skelton to lock!

It’s great that Benji should have more options next year. Up to him and the staff to work out what’s the best 17. Hopefully Taylan will be there because he’s only going to get better one would think. If all are healthy how do we fit all these guys into our 17?

skelton as a back row/backline utility perhaps. But we need cover for api at 9 and one of Latu or douhie will rotate through 13/14 so I think you need the bench to have more impact. Perhaps Makasini has to bide his time in cup until he displaces someone or there is an injury. I really want our round 1 team to be ready to go, no-one needs to be learning to play their role
Well done to him, and best of luck!
