On this mid-week pod we look at the Galvin contract saga, focus on beating the Eels and Yioti brings some great questions for his weekly quiz. https://weststigerspodcast.com.au/keeping-galvin-and-bouncing-back-against-the-eels/

It is so annoying and disappointing that after such a big build up to the season and lots of focus on new players etc, all the talk is now about LG and his possibly leaving the WT.

Pure distraction that we certainly don't need.

I'm hoping for a better showing from the boys this week but I am also expecting z stronger performance from Parramatta. We may play well and still lose. I'm backing us in for a W.

I also have to modify my comment from last week re Yottis quiz as this week I knew  few answers myself. Moltzen, Johansen and Stimson were easy answers.

Keep up the great work guys. 👍

Still can't believe I missed Moltzen.

Nobody knows what Lachie is thinking except those closest to him but it’s clear he loves footy & loves playing footy. He also loves to win, that’s clear as well. I doubt very much his priority is money right now & I doubt very much his parents want to make him prioritise it. As parents we all hope our kids love their job, they’ll do it for a long, long time, if they’re well paid that’s a bonus. But if you love your job you’ll never work a day in your life right. That’s what we try to ensure our kids understand. In my opinion the Brown signing has caused the media etc to have a field day with all this other stuff. Lachie has mates at the Tigers & he wants to play footy with them & win games with them. If that happens, and I think it will to some degree at least, then I think the rest will look after itself.

It’s funny all this talk of Lachie because when you look at the best teams, the most successful teams, they all have terrific fullbacks who are heavily involved with & without the ball. Not saying you don’t need a good or great halves pairing but how good your fullback is does seem to have a large bearing on your team’s fortunes.

Hopefully we'll see improved attack dynamic on Sunday with the return of Jahream! And Api of course, the most important piece of the puzzle

Very hopeful Nick. Jahream is obviously a very fit fella but I am concerned about the conditions on Sunday & his ability to have the influence we’d like given his lack of footy last 6 months. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

A gun fullback sweeping behind a backline has the opposition defence in two minds, halves look brilliant because the fullback has turned a defenders shoulder and a short ball to a edge back rower running a good line leads to a line break or a try. Look at the try that seafarth scored off the Latu short ball end of last yr...Lachy was sweeping across like a fb and seyfarth went through untouched. We potentially have 4 attacking weapons in our team Api, Luai, Lachy, AD and Bula, once they click it will be a sight to behold...problem is if they don't get in sync it will be an absolute horror show, a bit like last weeks attack in the opposition 20.

They will get in sync but it could take a bit longer than we would like. I heard on another pod that it’s likely Luai prior to rd 1 had only trained 6 or 7 weeks with the team. Only had a week or so before Christmas as that was just fitness & meeting the players pretty much post Samoa’s tests v England. Then 3 weeks in January before an injury in February and no trials etc. Would’ve been great for him to train from Nov’ until rd 1 with no injuries, about 12 weeks or so but not so. Jahream would’ve had less time than that with Luai I’m guessing. So I’d think it’ll take 4 or 5 games to really get things going smoothly and in the meantime if we can grind out a couple of wins it’d be pretty good.

Correct, next two weeks are really important for our season.
