I certainly agree about next week's game being so important. Parramatta may have been well beaten by Storm but I think they played way better than us in the second half. Very concerned that we could be on the end of a beating at Combank on Sunday. We need to improve all over the field.

Having said that, if having a few sub par players contributed to our inability to win against Knights maybe adding in a few of our first choice players may well contribute to an improved performance and possibly a win.

One can only hope!!! 🤞 🤞

I remember you doing it and I was thinking Faagatu didn't play, by the time I worked out who you were talking about it was too late to correct you.

It might be an indication of my enthusiasm for Faatape 😂

Good pod guys.

I know it is really hard for the fan base to be patient after 10 years of inadequacies but we really should be. Half the team are newbies to the squad, some have very few NRL games to call upon. This is a new squad and it will take time to gel.
More players will be signed as well.

I hope Taylan May joins his brother. He would boost the outside back stocks.

My concerns aren't primarily around the players performance, the gameplan does have me a little worried though.

I watch a lot of Tigers games but I don’t know anything about the technical side of league. Can anyone who knows how attacking structures are developed explain why the tigers can go for years without replicating the structure that seems to suit virtually every other team in the competition? Do we think it’s a deliberate strategy to play a flat attack and replicate Penrith (though without the players)? Or is just a lack of planning?

Might have a bit to do with the fact our outside back are not very quick, been a long time since we have had speedy centres/wingers. I don't agree with it though, you should play flat or with depth depending on the play that's called and the attacking momentum...this is where Jerome and Api should take control and rally the attack. We do not seem to build or adjust our game plan to expose weaknesses in our opponents.

For example I didn't mind Galvin grubbering behind the line in a rushing defense (problem was his execution) it's the right tactic to put the defence in 2 minds and take advantage of a flatter attack. When we play the dogs we should utilize the same tactic and I'm surprised more teams are not doing it as they are really sprinting forward in defence.

I listened to the pod, I don’t think we were anywhere near as bad as been made out. Yeah clunky, yeah some dumb kicks, but I saw so much that I had never seen before from this team, and it was off the back of all our new players.

i think when half the team is new like ours, you can’t try all these fancy block plays etc. You have to play conservative and build into the season.

we are starting from such a low base, therefore it will take more time.

agree play the ball very slow, api will fix that and help a lot with everything that happens after.

scramble for the most part was great, you can’t deny that.

It’s gonna take time unfortunately. I predict after 10 weeks we will start looking good, hopefully we can get some wins before that and keep our season alive.

I heard this at WestsLife podcast. Is our game review from the perspective of a former nrl women’s premiership winning coach. Thought it was really good. It’s long and only for tragics like me.
