Maybe the club would consider him a replacement as a big bodied 6 to replace Douehi If he leaves?

He just doesn't seem to be dynamic enough to play at 6...

Tommy set to re-sign for another two years as per the Daily Tele report.

Does this news mean he’s in line to play 5/8? Lock? Centres?

Obvious concerns are his pace if he plays out wide and his ruggedness in the forwards.

What do you think our plans are here?

Think he is in for the bench role Garner like. Can come on for 2nd row but also in the centres which is the flexibility every squad needs especially in an era of head knocks as it covers your whole backline- the eels have used Nuikore, Sharks Niokora, , etc. You need that utility value on the bench these days must have been almost every week we had a back either injured or went off with a HIA mid game

Surely he is the new Luke Garner?

Im not good with him getting a top 30 at this point. His injury was so bad and he has been off for so long, surely we need to see what he can do before that kind of commitment?

I'm surprised we've signed him for 2 years. Coming off a horrible injury and wasn't really shooting the lights out prior to that. Takes up a valuable top 30 spot too.

Perfect of the bench

Played 5/8 for Australian schoolboys

Can play across the full backline

Can also cover 2nd row and lock

Top 8 2023

Good point, let’s hope he hits the ground running.

Like to have a look at him un-injuried. Hope he has been doing some sprint training during his rehab. At lest I hope he does some in the pre-season. Has potential  and I hope he lives up to it.

@avocadoontoast

this might speak volumes to the lack of pulling power that the club and the new coaching regime actually has and why signings like this one occur at all.

Like your optimism and hope he kills it but I’ve seen nothing from this kid to suggest he is a top 17 or even top 30 player at any squad except for the one that finished last

A 2 yr contract is a massive risk. I don't think other Clubs would be chasing him after his long lay off and lukewarm form in the past. The train and trial deal would have been a safer option even if WT lost him. Yes he has potential but this could easily backfire and if it does WT has yet another ongoing problem to deal with. Having said that I hope he kills it with us.

TT must have been doing well with running strength and movement at training. There is no way we're offering a 2yr contract without that.

From memory, wasn’t he able to play late in the year but we kept him back?
