So are we paying $200k a year, or is his freight discounted by $200k per year? Either is a decent outcome I guess.

I fear that third year will be a punish.

$600k a year contract, Storm covering $200k a year for the first 2 years.

$400k is pretty fair

and by the time the third year kicks in at 600k, we have nofas bad 500k contract off the books, and a bunch of younger guys like lobb taking up cheaper deals.

Plus, olams presence, professionalism and mentorship make those younger guys better players.

Not as bad or as risky as most think.

That third year is nasty. Not sure we’ll get value out of this. I’m happy to eat my words but I think we’re risking long term pain for a short term gain

It is definitely risky, I am happy to give them the benefit of the doubt because of other good decisions recently.

I think there’s a decent chance that after 2 years with us Olam will be happy to take up a super league deal for a couple of years with us perhaps chipping in a bit.

In 2023 the media had Olam on $425k/yr for 2024/6. Curious where the $600k came from?

There was a report that he is on $600k a year for the next 3 years with the Storm covering $200k for the first 2 years.

@garry

August 2023, DT reported Olam was on $425k

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/nrl-2023-salary-of-every-back-five-player-at-every-club-revealed/news-story/1fc4c9c061176266bb3cf5bf40e0181f

Could be correct but I've heard other figures.

Hopefully those are correct.

Nofo article on SMH seems like we were paying him 525k a season approximately... good grief

he has been issued with a termination letter and has to front eh board Wednesday apparently according to the article benji has told him his future is not in first grade if he stays and have offered 300k a year for termination

I am sure he knows a lawyer 😉
