Manly Sea Eagles five-eighth Josh Schuster is set to sign a three-year extension worth a reported $2.4 million to remain at the club over three years.
As the Sydney Morning Herald reported, Schuster informed the club late Monday night regarding his decision.
The news comes one day after the club signed Luke Brooks from the Wests Tigerson a four-year deal beginning in 2024.
What a relief. Has all the talent but no work ethic IMO.
You'd think this confirms Samuela Fainu has to look elsewhere. Manly running out of edge forward spots.
I'd like to think it confirms Manly knows Sam Fainu is going somewhere
According to Manly people, it will be Titans, not us.
Actual Manly people, or Twitter?
@tiger5150 there's a lot of talk from people who don't talk rubbish. Apparently Des came in last minute.
Now Twitter people saying Dragons have swept in
Also consider Manly might not want to release players to Scott Fulton who they just sacked. Spite is strong in rugby league
I believe if we go for a young half we have to identify certain traits in them first, then stick with them through the lows like Souths are with Ilias. Work on there mistakes and make them grow.
The traits I refer to above for me are:
1. Confidence. Must have some swagger about him.
2. Promising kicking game
3. Shown an ability to play straight, and pass short at the line turning opposition shoulder in.
If they have these 3 qualities, we can build the rest.
Trindall, Sullivan
Trindall definitely, Sullivan, yea maybe. I could warm to that if Benji thinks he can grow him
0% chance of Sullivan with Hunt leaving Dragons, maybe a 2% change with Trindall with Moylen retiring soon.
would be shocked if sharks release trindall he will take over from moylan
Well, wait for the uproar if we miss him.
if Talau is named to play in about 3 mins it won’t be a good sign..
Well, wait for the uproar if we miss him.
It will show this place is laughing stock still... Our $$$ are just as good as anyone's right?
This is excruciating. I will not be happy if we have missed Latu.
To play where though ? Sullivan and Amone have been thier future for the last 5 plus years .
His brother is here , he has a clear passageway to not only first grade , but basically the potential marque player at the tigers .
his family is from the west Sydney , although I think they live in Elanora heights now courtesy of manly .
I absolutely don’t see it .
The only thing I can see , is Tartak has had a wobbly because we wouldn’t give Schuster a contract and is now trying to manoeuvre things .
What about Jonah Pezet?
No idea how long he is signed to Storm... but he has his pathway blocked at Storm by Munster and Hughes; was a NSW junior representative halfback from memory and is pretty much ready for first grade now.
Throw some $$$ at him... worth a try!
This is excruciating. I will not be happy if we have missed Latu.
bit we won't have Brooks so all good right 😉
Also , it’s obvious Tartak and Fulton are trying to do what Moses is doing at manly/warriors / tigers circa 2016/ broncos circa 2020 , and that gain control of a club .
And the best way is to Have the top star at a club locked in . The leverage you can get from that is immense ., not for that player per se , but lower level contracts and squad filler .
Because the more Nrl talent the agent has the better his agency looks to potentially clients , especially prospective juniors .
Like I said , it doesn’t make any sense when you think about the 4d chess managers are playing with lower tier clubs like ours/manly /dragons/titans .
Moses must have felt like he won the lottery when he managed to gain control over most of the list at Brisbane .
Then they took the L and put a broom through the joint .
Also , it’s obvious Tartak and Fulton are trying to do what Moses is doing at manly/warriors / tigers circa 2016/ broncos circa 2020 , and that gain control of a club .
Tartak manages a whole bunch of our promising juniors, so I think his influence over the club is coming whether we like it or not.
Hard to see where the club goes if they miss out on Fainu. Certainly would mean the leadership has massive questions to answer.
