From Weidler. Pascoe and Lee are the worst.
Clouds remain over Sheens’ future
We were chastised by rival media for suggesting a few weeks back that Tim Sheenscould be headed for an early exit from his coaching duties at Wests Tigers.
At that point we didn’t say it was locked in, but talk of Sheens not seeing out his two-year deal as head coach won’t go away.
Sheens is said to be perplexed by what is happening at the club, and he is angry that he has lost his right-hand man, Warren McDonnell, his former head of recruitment. The significance of that is McDonnell was regarded as a non-negotiable when it came to Sheens taking the job.
A few weeks ago, Sheens was blindsided by a tweet we put out saying Scott Fulton was heading for the Tigers. Sheens was not part of the negotiations that secured one of the sharpest recruiters in the business. The relationship between Sheens and Fulton will be worth watching.
Fulton’s signing was shrewd but for Sheens it’s a red flag, no matter how the club wants to spin it. Then there was a promise that the recruitment men could work together, given, the story went, that they had strengths in different areas.
Fulton has the full backing of Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe and chairman Lee Hagipantelis — he was their most-prized recruit — so he is in a position of strength. Fulton was always going to survive the recruitment power struggle, and now he has the keys to the playing roster.
What will be interesting is how much say Sheens has. Sheens caught some at the club by surprise with his recent declaration that the club was going to offer much-maligned halfback Luke Brooks a new contract.
Not everyone at the Tigers thinks Brooks is the solution and the future of the club. The Tigers had a crack at signing Shaun Johnson in a clear indication that not everyone wants Brooks to stay. Sheens did not respond when contacted for comment.
and the shit is about to begin again, stability for a few weeks then the rubbish articles start again after a few loses
Pascoe must go. We have been a basket case under his leadership and we finally get someone who knows footy back in the club and he undermines him. Back in the day sheens was always top dog and rode atop the factions at the club. We beg him to come back, we get some success and sharp recruiting and then we undermine him. I’m very concerned that we will get jammed full of Tartak fringe players.
@avocadoontoast can these guys just piss off already . I’m seriously done with both of them .
they just perpetuate drama all the time . Just change shot for change sake .
It’s literally Exco type garbage logic . Fully driven by KPI type management techniques.
In saying that , if Warren is carrying on like a pork chop because we brought in a 40 something guy , with extensive recruitment experience, contacts ,and can enact some kind of succession plan , I mean that’s on him .
Most of the nrl has put him out to pasture except Tim , which is fine , and I don’t think he was sacked per se, he just had his role diminished because I guess his value was brought into question .
He’s what 70? The entitlement stench is strong in him as well as those other 2 muppets .
One name that is missing that article is Benji Marshall. What’s his thoughts / opinion Fulton and McDonnell and who he thinks should be recruitment manager, Benji is our coach for the next 3 years. I think Benji is and was well aware of what was going.
@lestronge they’re both egomaniacs. Things are finally starting to look like they’re turning a corner so they go behind the coaches back to bring on Fulton, destroying any semblance of stability. They’re the biggest impediment to wt succeeding.
Brooks has informed the club he’s moving on at the end of the season per DT
@avocadoontoast At last !!!now sign a couple of decent halves .And if Sheens does not like it he can go as well ASAP ! Should never have been the coach in the first place ….
@avocadoontoast I disagree it was absolutely time some one actually did something pro active ! New blood had to be brought into the recruitment role immediately things need to drastically change … Sheens is orchestrating another wooden spoon season at this stage probably 4 decent NRL performances all season so far is NOT good enough !
DT reporting that Benji has been told by Brooks that he won’t be here next season.
We need a decent replacement half or two…
Brooks Gone and Tim wanted him to stay ? Warren Gone and Tim wanted him to stay ? I love Tim, but maybe times up Tim ?
Ps: Will the uninformed please understand these current decisions are from the BOARD!!!! and whilst Pascoe and Lee may or may not agree, its the Board. I suspect a Board that's had enough of the love affair with some players being teflon coated.
The Frog
@the-frog I get the impression that some think enough is enough and decisions are being made regardless of fall out .. at times these things need to happen ,if there is collateral damage so be it , the team has the spoon sown up again this season that could be 2 seasons straight if anyone one thinks that there would not be repercussions well your dreaming!

If Brooks has informed the Club he wont be here next year, surely thats a decision by Luke Brooks, not the BOARD?
