One of the Tigers Facebook groups (I can’t find the post now, sorry) says the young Manly prop has signed with us from 2023.

Curbing my enthusiasm

Nicho Hynes is on about 600k and he is head and shoulders above both brooks and Douhie. He is ready to play right now, is a great goal kicker, can play 1,6 or 7 and has made a huge difference to the sharks. How could we have not looked at him. We could have given brooks to Newcastle, left peachey alone and picked up Finucane and Hynes for about the same cash.

Pretty good post.

@jedi-tiger Hastings and Hynes would make a great halves combination

Hastings is a 7, Hynes is really a 6 or a 1. Laurie has potential but he is a long way from a top 8 fullback.

One player the Tigers have added to the club’s top 30 roster is young gun Manly prop Sione Fainu.

The younger brother of suspended Sea Eagle Manase Fainu, the front row forward has signed a three-year contract with the Tigers.

From Fox Sports.

The boys and girls over on the Manly forum are disappointed in losing him.

Hynes is a 7 and doing a good job at sharks can play 6 and 1

Tigers listened to Scott Woodward (check out his segment on SEN afternoons with Jimmy smith this week) he picked out Hastings and was calling him practically daily from ESL

We went the wrong player we should have gone Hynes over Hastings

Maybe we can sign Sione Fainu and Manly release him to us and we do an early release for Tualagi

That should still leave a spot for Euan Aitkin who wants a release from Warriors as he wants to stay in Australia

At the time heard from a source we were chasing Aitkin pretty hard and he signed with warriors.

Euan Aitkin would be perfect can cover centre or second row

We should have gone for Hynes and let Brooks go. Hynes and AD halves combo would have been a massive step up on what we have now.
