A parramatta mate was telling me he seems to think tigers are paying half of Joffa's 2024 salary (so potentially 300k) and they pay the full freight for 2025. interesting if true

it’s strange we’d pay anything since we only extended him recently. I don’t understand this move at all.

Probably a swap for Jakob Arthur knowing this club.

We extended Joffa for 3 years only 8 months ago

- it's firstly so strange we'd move him on so soon, but if we pay any freight, that is incredibly bad management

And I'd say it's a very viable symptom- of not having a full time GM Football - which we lost when Sheens became head coach

Well Jakob Athur is anyone other than Brooks, so according to some that is a big tick....

Who knows delay may be a blow up a out how much xash we are kicking in... seems strange to do the medical then pull the plug

surely this has Fulton's hands all over this as far as he would be the one taping joffa on the shoulder to look elsewhere etc maybe not a sheens decision?

But is Fulton now GM Football?

How much say does he have? Or in other words, who is the boss?

would think he has the say on top 30, even if Sheens wanted joffa gone Fulton would be managing the wallet and have to ok the move. Sounds like the pulling of the deal after the medical might be Fulton playing hard bal labour freight for 2024 and 2025.

Secondly if joffa does play against cowboys how committed will he actually be

Classic Tiges this. Never a dull day.

I imagine Lee and Justin will clear it all up during Ask the Boss next week.

I'd completely forgotten that he re-signed late last year. Shopping him around 10 rounds into a 3 year deal is hilarious, even by our club's dismal standards.

@dirty-reds

You have to laugh -

I'm know this isn't true, but you could be forgiven for think the club adding have no idea what they are doing and are just making things up as they go

DT reporting the Joffa release delayed because we want him to play on the weekend due to Pole being sick. Absolutely bizarre if true.

Herald is reporting we didn't release him because we hadn't green lit the transfer yet. Didn't say anything about Pole. Could be Fox soap operaing again?

Stuff the eels. If we need him this weekend then we keep him. Would be nice to send him off at LO rather than just a mid week press release. This is a media beat up.

But if we need him why are we releasing him in the first place?

@avocadoontoast I don’t reckon thay story is true mate . And we kind of don’t need him . Matamua , Blore , James , Tumeth , Fainu, Seyfarth? , all need a spot in the 17 . Also that other gun lock coming through , I believe the SG ball team captain .
And no criticism of Joe , he’s been a rock when the whole team has been anything but , but he does at times find it hard to find his front .
Pole is basically Joe O with a better step, and quicker play the ball .
Not criticising him , because of all the intangibles, and the fact he has gone from a trouble maker at the broncos , to captain material here , but those are just the hard facts .

Matamua is the only one , who just isn’t ready yet .
And we desperately need some creativity.

Not defending brooks , but Wakeham doesn’t really offer much , and whatever brooks does offer , is negated by this fact .

I felt Bula at times , due to the bunnies great sliding defence , found it difficult to find the right option on many half chances past weekend . And Talau is an absolute ball stopper . For a former 6 , his lack of a pass is beyond frustrating. He’s a decent football player , but he does strike me as the second coming of Ben Pomeroy.
Most of that stuff will sort itself out with experience , but say a switched on Schuster , not this lazy version we are seeing , could really propel the rebuild forward .

@avocadoontoast perhaps we are not happy with the amount of freight parramatta is wanting to pay for 2024 and 2025 hence we have held him back to get parra to pay more

Don't get me wrong, i'm happy for Joe to move on. I think last year he was a standout in our very weak pack but this year he's a bench player at best, and blocking some talent coming through.  I just don't understand the logic of saying we need him this week (I don't think we do)
