Talau hasn’t really impressed me as a player. Can’t imagine him working at 13. I think he needs time in reserve grade, hasn’t played for a long time.

yeah I don’t see him starting 23 in first grade either.

Tough call, but he might not see a lot of first grade here in 2023. Twal might also not fit Sheens-ball.

@helmesy I like twal he does those dirty tackles but attack wise he doesn't look like a Sheens type of prop

if you add Woods you gave 9 middle forwards. I would keep Twal over Seyfarth and I doubt seyfarth sees much first grade given our depth in this position is pretty good
@tigertownsfs I think Alex Seyfarth might see a fair bit of back row as our depth isn’t great in that position. Fainu and Simpkins will probably play plenty of Cup, leaving the other 5 to fight out starting and bench spots. But you never really know with Shifty.
If Seyfarth sees any first grade it will be due to a horrible injury toll. He belongs in reserve grade

looking at this list of middles it makes me think for squad balance it makes more sense for us to pick up Nathan Brown rather than Adam woods. Klemmer, Steph, joffa, pole provide god forward but are also similar styles. Brown on the bench and coming into lock it to share some time with a Matamua as he develops and to provide that impact and offload that we have lacked for several years makes more sense

yeah Rua also in that mix. Can also give api a spell
Tuki is the interesting one, for me. He has an incredible off load and I reckon Sheens can do a lot with him. The kid has talent - just needs the dedication and hard work to go with it. Mid season, I can see him really coming on strong. If not, he needs to go to free up a roster spot.
