@avocadoontoast can't agree with that assessment agree to disagree mate
reckon next year it will be
7. Brooks
6. Douhie
We may release Hastings to Newcastle as a sweetner to get klemmer in 2023 and play joffa or Bateman in the 13 role.
Can't see tigers releasing Brooks or douhie in 2023 though as we have no backup
wonder if the rival club Douhienhas shopped himself to for 2024 is Newcastle or Bulldogs ?
@garry who mate Douhie's price started higher than 850k ?
Yes AD's asking price was higher than $850k

so you’d release our only organising half but you’d retain Brooks and AD?
here’s a question. Do you view Brooks as an organising half, yes or no?

I think Hastings will be here.

@avocadoontoast with sheens coaching yes I do, at least for 2023
only releasing Hastings if we really need klemmer for 2023 probably the only way it will happen with Newcastle. Based on Hastings in my opinion seems like he does not want to play 13 anyway so if he wants to play 7 can tigers make that happen and get something in return.
2024 I really think if you move on Hastings and douhie then the Brooks Moses partnership can return this time with Moses playing 7 role and Brooks to 6, behind a good pack it should work. us if we do sign Mose then possibly we can sign Brooks for cheaper as he want sto play with his mate
@garry The one huge attribute that Hastings has in spades is the will to win this is something that the Tigers have not had for a decade … he might be a bit slow but his attitude on the field is at hyperspace ,having a player that has his drive is priceless . Obviously Sheens is going to untapped these qualities in the present roster good luck with that ..It will be a mistake to let Jackson walk IMO.
So many moving parts in all this. It certainly appears that Doueihi has priced himself out of the Wests Tigers.
Clearly, Sheens and Benji are up to something with longer term impacts - potentially with non of the current three in the picture.

@jedi-tiger Its time reality sets in Brooks will not take this team to the next level, the club needs to look outside the club for 2 new halves that’s the situation, that’s the only way the team goes to the next level and play finals footy …

I think he could be a 7 but would require a really dangerous 6 outside him to make up for his lack of speed and creativity (probably not the right word). I think in our current side we need to build up our forward pack and play him as a 13 to make up for the weakness of all our halves. This requires us building the pack so we can lighten his workload in the 13.

I know it’s a big IF?. But if Sheensy can sort out transfer fees and get him to come back over, George Williams would be the controlling halfback we need. His kicking game and organisational play is workmanlike. His tackle on Paulo on the line last night showed his fearlessness. I’d have any one of our 3 to play a running 6 with Bateman lock.
Looks like we are all in on Moses then for 7. Hopefully it pays off.
I still think sheen wants 7. Moses, 6. Brooks and that he (or more likely Benji) doesn’t want Hastings or douhie long term.

I'd take Williams.
