The westslife pod guys are normally pretty good with mail from the club

I think this is crap.

I think that WT have not rushed to offer AD, Hastings or Laurie a contract and you can argue that is fair enough because we came last in 2022.

But you'd have to think that the Knights are getting Brooks. They have let Clifford go. As it stands they only have Gamble and Clune as recognised halves on their books for '23. There is no way that O'Brien starts the year with those guys in the halves.

Assuming Brooks is gone then there is no chance the club lets Hastings walk as well at least not in 2023.

Everyone is so quick to say that Sheens doesnt want Hastings in the halves because he is too slow. Is it worth noting that Sheens previously played John Morris in the Number 7.

A bit left field but Interesting hearing David riccio on radio today seem to think Hastings potentially to dolphins as an option and maybe even for 2023 and that would free up cash for Tigers to get klemmer and Frizell in for 2023.

Makes sense if Sheens does not see Hastings as the 7 in 2024, release Hastings early and get Bateman (who apparently may play 13) along with klemmer and Frizell.

Potential Forward pack

8. Klemmer

9. Api

10. Joffa

11. Papali

12. Frizell

13. Bateman

That would leave the club with

7. Brooks

6. Douhie

I love the look of that forward pack, but Brooks can't organise a game to save his life and AD isn't a 6. If Sheens is genuinely considering letting Hastings go for 2023, he must have something up his sleeve we don't know about.

It's not a great look that a supposed leader of the club is liking posts slamming the club for not re-signing him. Hastings needs to grow up.

I’m getting a strong feeling our 2023 1,6,7,13 are going to be very different to our 2024 pairings. Also that we will likely not release anybody but just sign for 24 and run with what we have in 23. Surely the odds of us picking up Moses are shortening by the day.

Anybody know the status of that Faagutu kid from Qld?

He is not listed anywhere in that squad announcement the other day on the website.

@mickb if Brooks is gone it will be for 2024 not 2023 you would think

They could well let Hastings walk for 2023 if Bateman is coming to play 13 and Sheens is happy with 7. Brooks 6. Douhie for 2023

@avocadoontoast if and big if he kept Brooks beyond 2024 maybe a pairing of George Williams and Luke brooks is what Sheens is after who knows?

The forward pack would be pretty impressive if we land klemmer Bateman frizell along with papali and api

@tigersteve I think Brooks best spot is 6, Moses or George Williams to play 7 would work pretty well

@jedi-tiger I was surprised that he wasn’t named to train with the squad as he played Queensland cup this year. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he finished the year in cup or even some minutes in first grade like Matamua did last season.
