Our next signing should be the extension of Stefano on the back of our new key signings this is the one which will give us all confidence. If we are to be the real deal then Stefano without doubt is and must be our most important signing if we fail this one then we go backwards again. Hope it is announced soon.

I couldn't agree more

FWIW Nic Cotric has just changed his IG display photo from a Bulldogs photo to an old photo of him sitting on the seats at Leichhardt......plenty of reports that its a done deal.

Yes Stefano is important,

But I think we need to extend nofa first.

I'm not sure nofa is on a long enough contract, and I think with a more secure contract, it will bring out the best in his game.

😁

Just joking.

Of course Stefano is the priority. He's hoping he is the spearhead of our team for the next 10 years.

You did get me thinking though. Ive started a thread on players you'd resign for 2024.

I was surprised who were the 7 players already signed for 2024

I think centre is our weakest position along with second row, so I would play him at centre. I don't think it is as strong a signing as Papali'i and Api, but it is one that makes a difference for the coming season.

On Cotric, is he a centre? We don’t need a winger. I don’t really get this signing.

I know cotric is coming from the spooners , so he’s technically in the same mild as many other of our signings , but ….  He went to the dogs under the guise and promise that they were on the up , probably sold on the myth of Trent Barrett .
I think this is very much not one of those treading water type signings , but rather the opposite , an origin player caught in a down year .
it reminds me of when the broncos got Hodges back from the roosters after he basically did nothing for a year .

Also , another thing that killed us last season, was the mid season rule changes . We clearly seemed to train for a different type of football , and these changes ended our season before it began .
Also I think Aaron Grays training methods were not suited to the new nrl .
hopefully they’ve learnt thier lessons and are good to go .
sorry about ranting , I’m actually optimistic about next season.

The midseason rule changers were in 2020, but there is no doubt we didn't play a style of footy suited to the new rules.
