would like to see us targeting Ruben Garrick as a fullback, or wing maybe move Laurie to 6 or keep at fb and also go after Schuster maybe as a 6 or second row
Gildart may be speaking the truth but is unprofessional by making those comments. I wouldn’t take him back.
@eastiemagpie we were not unprofessional as a club when we flew his parents out from U.K. for his debut

Ungrateful, slow and a bad defender. Not great attributes in a professional footballer.

He’s one of the worst centres we’ve ever had.

That makes his comments even more unprofessional. I hope he never comes back.

I really can’t see how Laurie fits into our roster. He is very talented and is definately a first grader but our team just has too many weaknesses to cover up for his main deficiency (lack of size). We desperately need success in 2023 or this club is going to tear itself apart. Garrick is rated as quick at Tom Turbo and his is tall and strong and a top goal kicker. I would trade out Laurie and douhie and give Garrick a contract upgrade to play as a good value fullback (650k). Then lock in Hastings and go all out for marquee 6. If that’s Munster the. Trade out douhie to Melbourne for an early release. You can’t just bring in one or two good players and let the young kids get torn up. You need to bring in 4 or 5 to build a resilient team that can support the kids. We laugh at the bulldogs but they shown that as long as they aren’t long contracts you can pay overs and bring some quality to the club. The problem we had under Ivan is that we gave away 4 and 5 year contracts.
@tigertownsfs would be happy to lose
douhie
Brooks
Laurie
for
1. Garrick
6. Munster/ Dylan Brown
7. Hastings
9. Api

Completely agree. And with the exception of Munster/brown the rest is very doable. Knights want him as a bargain to play 1 to move 1m+ ponga into the halves. We have no marquee players at all, surely we can sensibly outspend any team with the exception of the dolphins. The eels can’t pay both Moses and brown as marquee halves and given how hard it is to find 7s they will have to prioritise Moses. Storm have stated publicly they won’t go above 850 for Munster.
@tigertownsfs A snowflake’s chance in hell of getting Cam Munster.
Ivan Cleary, aside from being a liar and a snake, excelled in vandalising our salary cap. We’re still paying for his handiwork whilst he wins another minor premiership.Thankfully Ivan Cleary’s negative influence on WTs comes to an end in a fortnight.

He’s after a pension payout. No thanks. Past it, and has heaps of injury concerns.

That's out of left field!
