Averillo, Mann, Brailey and, most likely, Frizell. Oh, and some young dude who walked out on the Bulldogs. That's the calibre of player WT can attract.
Meanwhile Farnworth is off to the Roosters (supposedly), Haas to the Rabbits, Drinkwater et al to the Dragons..... signings that are likely to have direct, positive impact on their new NRL side and make them (or keep them) competitive in 2027.
WT had our marquee in Luai and look how that turned out; bugger-all on the field but huuuuuuge impact off the field; apparently. allegedly, supposedly .....unbelievably IMO.
2027 looms as another year of cellar dwelling for WT.

It certainly shows that we (and probably other strugglers) have to pay a tax to get first grade players (presumably we have spent up to the cap on a squad without any superstars).
We have to cling to the hope that what we witnessed before the mid season slump can return and with the addition of more experienced players we can avoid falling in a hole.

@joel Exactly, Joel. Hope is all we have. Rather than geuine belief or expectation that things will be markedly better in 2027.
All it shows really is that the RLPA has a bit too much power... all clubs have to spend 95% of the salary cap minimum... no matter the caliber of players... does not allow a club to save $$$ to throw it around to poach much.
In any case we need depth... when our top team got many injuries we were exposed.
Kurt Mann - officially a WT in 2027.

Jeral Skelton has got off the WT bus.

Seriously? RLPA has too much power? NRL is one of the most brutal professional sports on the planet. The RLPA needs to put the interests and wellbeing of players light years above any concern for your opinion or mine. All it shows really is that the RLPA has a bit too much power... all clubs have to spend 95% of the salary cap minimum... no matter the caliber of players... does not allow a club to save $$$ to throw it around to poach much.

Looks likely that Knights, and former Raider, James Schiller is coming to WT.
He’s a tall winger who has played 33 first grade games.

Looks like we will have plenty of depth in our backline but what about a big impact forward.
Great podcast last week regarding the new signings (or likely new signings). Some definite food for thought in the discussions.
Thank you. Yes, some interesting things to look at and discuss this off season.
