I'm not feeling the same level of angst or concern about the exit of Luai after 2027 as I did when Tedesco, Woods, Moses and Brooks left in years gone by.
I'm feeling about on a par with Galvin's exit, i.e. I don't care that much.
Luai has not delivered on the field to the quantum of his contract. He just hasn't. The team played more fluently and impressively when he was out. And those who suggest his impact on where WT find themselves this year is wider than his on-field efforts;; well, that's just an opinion.
I don't think his mega-contract with PNG will be a source of discontent within the squad. But if he continues to deliver to e level below what his current contract is worth, then I hope Marshall drops him and bloods the future of the club. And, use the Luai cash to retain Bula FFS as the top priority.

100% agree with these points. I'm confident he will give his all and I'm hoping if anything he'll be more motivated to win a premiership with the Tigers before he leaves. But leaving a lasting legacy of standards, effort and culture that last decades would be equally as welcome. I'd prefer 10 years of continuous finals vs a one off premiership and then no finals for 9 years.
I think the way Luai, Benji and the club have managed and responded to this situation has been best case. My biggest hope now is that the other players will respond as positively and that it won't impact our season negatively.
