Moses like any greedy agent wants his commission hence why he's playing silly bullocks and leaking to the media.
Top end fullbacks are on $900k plus
I'd feel more than comfortable to offer him 4/5 year between $700-850k
Provides Bula with stability and Moses gets his cut.
The Bula media talk is just speculation. And managers of in demand players will also put stories out there to increase interest around their client. I’ve no doubt at all Richo & Benji understand how important Jahream is to the Tigers so I expect him to be at the club for at least the next 2 years.
He kind of falls into the Doueihi mould here. I’m a huge AD fan and always have been, but an nrl half has to be sharp at his trade for the entire 80.That’s his Achilles Heel. He’s pretty slow for a half.Interesting article on Galvin meeting Roger Fabri to find some speed. Good coaching by the Bulldogs or have they bought a dud?
If this speed training for LG doesn’t pay off then it’s the backrow for him, plus he’d have to add 10-15kg’s to that frame of his.
If Jahream or the Tigers don’t activate the clause in his contract, and it’s a massive if, then here’s a few fullbacks that I think could be looked at for 2027+
Papenhuyzen 3-4 years
Tedesco 2 years
Joey Manu 2-3 years
Kennedy 2-3 years
Gray 3-4 years
Garrick 2-3 years
There are probably others as well. But I would have a crack at Papenhyzen for sure if it came to that point.
Would you say Cleary is significantly quicker than Galvin or AD? It feels like the trade-off here is speed versus footy smarts. I don’t think Galvin is much of a strategic or scheming half—he’s more of an instinctive, in-the-moment player. He reacts to what he sees, and while he often gets it wrong, there are times he pulls it off and looks like a superstar. For me, his style demands speed, which he lacks. Take Reece Walsh as an example—he’s also a reactive, instinctive player, but his speed and strength through his legs and hips allow him to deliver incredible plays. However, when Walsh is off, he can be horrible and prone to errors. AD seems more of a schemer and strategic thinker, but when he plays half, he tends to overthink and slow down or break our attack. While speed is important, it can definitely be offset by footy smarts. He kind of falls into the Doueihi mould here. Great point, footy smarts as well as a great kicking game can be just as important, if not more so, than genuine speed for a half especially a game managing half, Fogarty is a great example. I don’t agree that AD breaks down our attack consistently however at times it can happen but given he’s played only a handful of games as a 7 at our club that’s not a problem. He’s also right side predominantly and that right edge wasn’t as stable as the left side those last 7 or 8 games. He, or Latu when fit, need to really build those combinations to see a more smoothly run team I’d think. Given Latu won’t be able to train much during the off season I suspect AD will be advantaged in that respect.Would you say Cleary is significantly quicker than Galvin or AD? There are options, but what about someone homegrown? The next Papenhuzen? They have to be out there?
Left field idea…Makasini??

I get peak Latrell Mitchell vibes when I think of Makasini playing FB, big body, big fend, great balance. If Jahream or the Tigers don’t activate the clause in his contract, and it’s a massive if, then here’s a few fullbacks that I think could be looked at for 2027+

@lorenzo I would love to see this also.
Another name to throw up as a fullback option if Bula does go is Javon Andrews. Doubt he has played the position but he's a similar build to Bula (so I assume he could compete for the high balls). He's also got a decent kicking game which I think is really valuable.
I suspect Bula re-signs for 3 years at 850k before November 1. Isaac cant strongarm us on this one because we can take up the Club option at which point I understand the agent fee goes to Team Ayoub?
Riley Oittman is what you’re thinking of. He’s only 19, pretty quick & elusive and just signed on for the next season or two. Hard to say how far he’ll go but he’s one to keep an eye on.If Jahream or the Tigers don’t activate the clause in his contract, and it’s a massive if, then here’s a few fullbacks that I think could be looked at for 2027+

To be fair it was difficult to see how far Papenhuyzen would go when he was playing NYC at the club. He’s also did pretty well.
There’s also Logan Brooks (Deninger) who we recruited from the Cowboys system this season, played Ball & Flegg and obviously has promise. Oitmann is the lighter framed zippy kind of Papenhuyzen style player.Riley Oittman is what you’re thinking of. He’s only 19, pretty quick & elusive and just signed on for the next season or two. I think this is what the club will do, they’ll activate Jahream’s clause, maybe even extend a year through to 2028 and by the end of 2027 they will have a better idea of where they stand with these young guys, Heath Mason, Riley Oitmann, Logan Brooks and possibly Tino Tavana although he’ll probably play wing mostly.

Gee I hope they exercise that option if that's all there is out there!
Paps and Manu are the only two that I would consider, and they would be at very long odds.
I sure as hell hope you're right. Or, that's it for me. End of 58yrs as a supporter (and sometimes member) of Balmain and then WT.The Bula media talk is just speculation. My comment will count for nothing but that's how bleedingly obvious it is that Bula MUST be retained, no matter the cost. He's the best player WT have, IMO.
@lorenzo This is not as left field as it sounds , I don’t think the club will tolerate another episode like Galvin. I would offer Bula 850k for three years by that time he should be at the top of his game then the big bucks will be on offer. Just offer him another contract if he wants to stay or if he wants out get it out the way . Bula is ok but would not loose any sleep if he left just do not want another Galvin issue rolling on through the year.

I agree in that I can’t see Richo letting it drag out.
