If you fancy a laugh after a bad Tigers week, have a look at The Kennel re Galvin after that Broncos loss. You must be ok with robust language though - they really need a moderator over there.

Definitely some fun reading their threads tonight. Such first world problems though! Stressing about whether they’ll make the top 2 or not! And over here we daydream about making the 8.

@mickb, you used the word culturally* when you wrote about Doueihi. When you consider those who've left the club recently and now, possibly, Doueihi, perhaps you've summed up Marshall's criteria for who to trust, who to listen to, who to favour and who to keep; i.e. guys from a particular broad cultural background like his? I've been pondering if that's Marshall's default position for a while now.

* i know it wasn't meant in the sense that I'm implying.

Looks like Josh Feledy is heading back over the Spit Bridge at the end of the season.

So, likely departures (or shredder prospects):

Feledy

Matamua

Doueihi

Tumeth

??

I occassionally check in on the forum and the last response above is partly why I don't look more often. I just don't need the negativety. I gather most of the guys who do the podcast do most of their discussions on a separate group chat , as they often mention. I also do similar now, part of a group that do discuss the highs and lows and everything in between .thought I would offer this feedback for what its worth. I'll be watching this arvo and I give us a chance and i'll also be at the members day on Thursday.

I understand what you’re saying re negativity - the only counter to this is that it can be hard to identify more positive topics and a more positive attitude in recent times.

tbh don’t care if we win or lose… I’m only still supporting because they are there. Been a tiger for nearly 40 years but I think times up and as I said this time last year NRL have to step in.

Yes, I agree there’s a chance that this can’t be redeemed 👍

Would love to know behind closed doors what the club really thought of Galvin vs Latu debate. Latu oozes class, is quick, high IQ and looks great in shape at first receiver. All stuff that would be evident at training. I know he was meant to play round 1 last year before injury and Galvin did well and stayed in the 17 but I’m quite confuse about what their plans were for this year. It feels like they were going for Luai 7, Galvin 6 and Latu 13 when the real play was Latu 7, Luai 6 and Galvin 13. Quite odd that they didn’t want to run with Latu at 7 but I guess they just were desperate to keep Galvin.

cannot wait to see a good stretch of Latu/Luai

@tigertownsfs  I still think we have too many 6’s in the team. Running types aswell. I actually think Latu’s spot will be 13 eventually.

i think it played out like this....Galvin was told to bulk up in the off season so the transition to 13 could begin, and Latu goes to 6. Galvin came back the same weight and Latu is the one that bulked up...maybe Galvin swapped their nutrition plans. Latu was unfit so Galvin goes back into 6, Latu gets fit then gets injured. Galvin sees Latu killing it in training and also sees latu and Luai doing "extras" together and so begins composing his dossier and  agitating for a release....the rest is history.

Read between the lines and when Benji praised Galvin it was always about his fitness and the kid just loves playing...nothing about skills or game management...he was not the preferred long term half.

I think the offer for Galvin was pushed by the HBG as they bought in to ll the hype around the kid.

I think they did want to run with Latu at 7. The telling part of Galvin's press release was that he would continue to be developed "as a half" at his new club.
