This is an absolute disgrace. I am having a lot of trouble keeping the faith in Benji and Richo lately.

The members deserve to know what's going on, because this seems like a dereliction of duty from Benji upwards. We've barely got a team of first graders, & we let 3 go this season for sweet FA. I'm not sure plowing our hard-earned into memberships of this clown show is the smartest move. I'm sick of being the doormat of the comp!

@lfc_tiger Your not alone in that thinking , do not care if players want to go elsewhere but there has to be renewal not just GUT the squad .I do agree there has to be an explanation of what is transpiring the club can not have it both ways ! They want supporters to become members with there own hard earned money.. Richo bags on about only talking to members well this week Mr Richardson is the time to address the issues of realising players mid season with seemingly no reward or replacements . Remember the crocodile roll that applies to administration as well .Looking forward to an explanation this week .

Wow. Came here to escape the social media where WT are being burned to the ground.

To find more here.

It's TDS... wow. Poor service, speed bump but let's crucify Benji and Richo over it.

I've said it before, we got the change we wanted, we are coming off the lowest base in comp. But let's riot anyway!

It’s not specifically losing TDS, it’s losing players in an already thin squad for no return.

@barra, "we got the change we wanted". What do you mean by that? Getting rid of Pascoe and Hagipantelis? If so, I'm fine with that. I'm pleased they're gone. But that doesn't make the new guys immune from scrutiny and criticism.

Richardson's media release on the Galvin/Moses refusal of the WT contract was one of the most significant errors of judgement from a CEO in living memory, IMO. Squad depth, so desperately needed at times like this, come from the ability to attract and recruit players from other clubs and the development and retention of our of best juniors.

Just when we needed smart, strategic, informed and effective leadership from a CEO of an NRL club coming off three consecutive wooden spoons, glass-jaw Richardson stuffs it up big time. He needs to be booted ASAP, IMO and a broom swept through the entire coaching/development and recruitment mob. Oh, and the Board too, but there's no chance of that unless NRL HQ step in, I fear.

TDS wasn’t the finished product but the issue for me is that by making remaining first graders play with QLD cup players making up the numbers and then crashing down the table you are very likely to destroy what positive culture left at the club. It’s like we are speed running the 2016-2020 downfall in one season. “We are a development club! Actually no our juniors suck and the good ones leave, now we are a recruitment club!”.

The 4th spoon is looming large

All correct. Yes, we're on target for another spoon - I can't see much hope of the captain being able to steer us away from it.

I still don't think we will get the spoon.

The board has been in place for less than 6 months.

In the past there was screaming about contracting players that turned out to be rubbish. Now that there are only lower tier players available (that want to come here or could get a release) there's screaming about not signing anyone.

Yes, the squad is thin, yes, that is now being exposed. But obviously we have not signed rubbish players to make up the numbers or get some sort of return - which would likely be poor and attract more criticism! Personally, I'm glad we haven't wasted money and will continue to trust that there is a plan.

The Galvin situation has a lot to answer for, but I also see the position that the club was put in became lose-lose.

Yes mate, I mean the change at board/chair/CEO levels.

I agree that they should not be immune to scrutiny, but we don't know and will likely never know what is going on within the walls and what the circumstances are of these releases etc. And because of that, all this Chicken Little commentary I'm seeing is OTT. Richo is the administrator that we needed and doesn't suddenly develop a glass jaw or go soft or whatever other barbs are being thrown his way, more likely he is having to navigate through an incredibly difficult period rather than behave like a bull in a china shop.

It is exactly the fact that we are coming off 3 spoons that we will find it difficult to attract talent. I'm glad that Richo and Benji are not breaking the bank on a player or players that will end up under-performing and bending the cap out of shape again or wasting it on 3rd tier players just to make the numbers up. Neither man is a fool.

The changes that you are calling for would only make our situation far worse in the short term with a very good likelihood of destroying the club IMO.

I like the idea that a player shouldn’t be to earn more than their current contract until the original contract ends. For weak clubs like WT it creates too large an incentive for a player to agitate for a release if they don’t get what they want. TDS and Galvin should be here for 18months more on their current deals helping the club off the bottom and repaying the over investment made by WT as a development club. Instead they get to sign an upgrade and run away. The players have a call option that only they can exercise, whereas the club is stuck with any contract that is overvalued (all money is guaranteed even if the player is loved on).

I respect your opinion but fundamentally disagree with it. Richardson and Marshall are exactly the combination we didn't need such that WT can be considered by players/managers as having turned a corner after 3 wooden spoons. Sure, I'm making that call in hindsight but based on that most disruptive and incendiary media release of Richardson and Marshall steering the ship to 6 consecutive losses and firming as I write this towards being wooden spoon favourites.
