They were frustrating results but I think a little perspective is needed (sound like the bunker). 4 of our 17 who played NRL against Broncos could be playing Flegg, 1 of them could be playing SG Ball. All played very well. Two of those teenagers are two of the hottest properties coming off contract next season. That’s pretty good talent identification. Our u18s just lost the GF. Our Balmain Ball team fell away last 4 weeks of their comp but improved a lot on last year when they failed to win a game, this time won 5 and missed out on finals by points differential. The Magpies Ball missed out on finals by 2 points despite many in the side still being eligible to play Ball again next year. If you could put the best of Balmain & Wests Ball teams together it would be a very powerful team. There’s plenty to look forward to over the next few years as all these kids develop. The State Cup team needs better leadership.Just saw the NSW Cup scoreline MSE 52- WM26.
What the 🤬🤯 is this Club doing.
Other pathways results this weekend are also diabolical. It’s just unbelievable that a football club with our catchment area can produce such crap coaching and poor talent identification.
What can you expect for our future when you get results like that.
Disgraceful.
@russtutty63 Yes agreed but for me couple of issues remain a concern for me.
the trickle of talent that is making it through is spread too thin.
Way back when we were looking for a first grade coach we interviewed Bellamy and one of his prerequisites was that there would be no duplication and / or separation of pathways teams (no Balmain or magpies but justWT) under his management coaching structure. So he perhaps also saw that our talent needs to be consolidated.
The other point is that any Pathways talent teens that are coming through land in our Reserve grade which (since Gardner success …. time who was pushed out by Sheens) has had a series of “just plain awful” coaches and young player developers.
Not to mention this is also partly due to the fact of our continual stacking about 1/3 our top 30 roster with combination of either young players that should still be learning their craft in pathways or plan bad old recruitment decisions disasters.
Finally my belief has always been that successful reserve grade side will provide much better environment for developing pathways youngsters in being ready for demands of NRL first grade. Good example is what the Bulldogs have achieved to date with very solid results in most of their grades.
Agree with all that and can only assume the club’s hands are tied in regards to consolidating the juniors into one team. Or there are other reasons we’re not aware of. Yes, they are being fast tracked too early but being as unsuccessful as we’ve been for so long to keep the best kids we’ve probably had to offer something other clubs can’t. The Dogs were sort of in the same boat until Gus took over & he’s put in plans over the past 3 or 4 years to see the success they’re having now. He’d had experience prior to that at Panthers and is obviously a great footy manager. Richo took over 18 months ago, or close to it, and is trying to do the same but it’s at a club less resourced and with a worse history of success.@russtutty63 Yes agreed but for me couple of issues remain a concern for me.

Thoughts on May as a 13 and allow us to recruit another apex predator starting prop (eg NAS)? May has massive motor, doesn’t dominate physically but has an offload and a pass?

Could work, at least for first 20 minutes.

I would be getting an aggressive prop to partner in the starting lineup with May.Thoughts on May as a 13 and allow us to recruit another apex predator starting prop (eg NAS)? May has massive motor, doesn’t dominate physically but has an offload and a pass?

I wouldn't be moving our best player.

The Kenty podcast, he came out and said he had heard from someone high up at tigers that Galvin is gone and will not be signing with us.
Kenty used to have strong mail with Parramatta so he possibly ends up there replacing brown

Might be what happens, especially with the Moses links.
If so, what a low act after the Eels punted him and we’ve given him every chance to develop and establish himself.

always thought this was going to be the outcome. Latu @ halfback and Luai @ five- eighth moving forward,

a bit disappointing if kenty is correct, being a Moses client i thought thst would happen otherwise why wouldn't he signs an upgrade contract. Moses and Galvin together at the Eels will be a pretty good halves pairing
I would then be concerned about bula and his contract next
I think TDS is rock solid pretty sure he stays a tiger

A bit weird as the noise a while ago was all about him moving to a team that could compete for a title. If he signs with the team that is currently bottom of the table then it was only ever about the money or it’s just Isaac Moses f*ckery.
Must be a doozy of a deal as the Tigers ability to upgrade Galvin’s salary this year and next gives them such a head start on what Galvin could earn over the next 4 years.
Tigers have done nothing wrong at all by Galvin and his team and it would really be a slap in the face. I’d say put a deadline on his decision (maybe round 12) and if he doesn’t sign get Latu in to the halves ASAP and play Galvin as the 13 or utility moving forward. But make him stick out his full contract with no upgrade.
The thing about this so called inside info is u look like a genius if it comes true, yet if it's not true there is little in the way of impact to your reputation as a nrl talking head. I'm not confident he is signing with us, however it would be a dumb move signing with Parramatta. It's funny how this rubbish comes out when other clubs say they have no interest or lock in other players...Moses using the parra stuff for leverage now that the dogs and roosters have been making noises that they are not interested. There is a young crop of halves coming through, so Lachie needs to be very careful that he doesn’t shoot himself in the foot here. Tbh I think Katoa is worth at least 250k more a season than lachie and I would be paying him 1m per yr.
Why would you go to the Eels now? Mitch Moses is becoming injury prone, they also have a rookie coach (even less experienced than Benji), and seemingly being right at the start of a rebuild.
Re TDS, him and Galvin are very close - I wouldn’t be surprised if they stick together and go somewhere as a package.
