He is certainly making the most of his off the bench opportunities at the moment and being well supported and celebrated by the playing group for his efforts. Why would you consider leaving? 😕 TDS to stay.

Here comes the manly play if DCE does leave, got told roosters but who knows how they can grab DCE really

if they do sign galvin, Brooks to have 1 year with galvin then large takes over at 6 in 2028, galvin to 7

obviously they will not be the only club after galvin, would still think they would have to throw plenty of cash to get him to brookvale personally I don't think in 2027 they will be any closer to winning a comp that us. Manly has one window and that is this year if everyone is fit

If the question is who has a window it’s hard to see how sea eagles, eels or dragons can plausibly argue they have a window at this stage in 2027/2029. Roosters you could sell a story about how they can always recruit etc but the only Sydney club with a legit window would be the bulldogs and you might argue that if we become a top 8 team this year then maybe we do too. It’s odd how you would outsource the most important decision in your career to Isaac Moses, it’s not like it worked out that well for the big 4 (ex teddy).

I would argue that with the players we have (all relatively young other than Api) we should have a window for the next 5 - 6 years assuming we can keep the core of the team together. Luai has one player option that he needs to exercise in Nov and then he is locked in for 5 years, I'm pretty sure early signs are he will hang around. We have a young forward pack with May and Pole leading the way. A young freak called Makasini coming through in the centers and a quality 9 in TDS, a fullback that has a crazy ceiling and a Brian To'o clone on the wing when Turuva moves to center partnering Makasini, throw Skelton in on the other wing and Samuela just hitting his straps and all we really need is another 2RF and a 13. Galvin would be crazy to go elsewhere if his main motivation is winning. Obviously, the big variable is Benji and for me reading between the lines of what Benji and the players have been saying it sounds like the team vibe has improved significantly this year, listen to TDS comments about the offseason and team supporting each other and you begin to wonder if the players that were "moved on" were perhaps white-anting Benji and impacting team morale. if you recall last year the players that were not sticking to the game plan and being ill disciplined were the more experienced guys and the kids were carrying the team...this year the experienced guys have stepped up. Methinks a certain Englishman may have been the chief protagonist followed by a recently departed player.

Imagine if Manly got both of our young gun juniors in their halves

it would be devastating

I wouldn't be surprised if Brooks ends up at St Merge before 2027

We might finally get to see that dream halves partnership - Brooks and Kyle Flanagan!

It’s been a little quiet of late in terms of Justin Olam & Taylan May. It wouldn’t shock to hear something over the next week or so. There’s also been nothing said regarding Charlie Staines who is missing from the team lists this week. Maybe he’s training with the NRL in the likelihood Jeral pulls out but it wouldn’t shock either if he was picked up by another club in the near future. If the club wants May, should Olam be medically retired, then freeing up another spot & a little more money might make it easier to upgrade Lachie and/or TDS and maybe promote Faataape or Porter to the top 30. Would still leave Naden, Luke Laulilii & maybe Toa as the back ups to Doueihi(?) & May. And Charlie would surely pick up a gig somewhere. Anyway, something is cooking behind the scenes so we’ll see.

Staines was present in the photo shoot for the sponsor upgrade announcement, maybe unlikely to use him if he’s got one foot out the door.
