Good news, but I would like to see at least 1 external edge forward signing going forward.
@jedi-tiger Agree there was always an upside to Alex ,he is fit big and is pretty quick on his feet when close to the line .His aggression is a plus….he puts in on every play and he wants to play for the club ! In these days of players only chasing the money the only way a club that wants to change its culture he is the type of personality you want at the club .Alex is no world beater but is a player that team mates would want to play with .
over the past few seasons I have seen this forum really turn into a Alex seyfarth lovefest and I don’t know how I missed the memo. How seyfarths errors and ill discipline is seen as “passion” but naden is classed as a deadshit is beyond me. Both players are why we are anchored to the bottom. Both are handy players that tip the scales in the wrong way when the game is on the line and fatigue enters. They are rarely just errors or penalties…they always seem to be at the worst time.
If seyfarth could bend the line or have impact in his carries I could get on board, but he doesn’t. Some one please help me understand why this is a good signing without mentioning that he is a good trainer and passionate player…
I should add i feel like a bastard laying into Alex like this, and am willing to get on board now he’s been extended, but as someone who watches the tigers as much as I do, I’m just confused how I’ve misread a player as much as I have compared to everyone else’s comments

I think you are spot on.

i
couldn’t agree more. In 3 weeks time you’ll be proven right. The guy gives his best but his best is so far short of NRL standard.
i have last years round 2 game at Bruce stadium etched in my memory. Seyfarth ‘won’ the starting lock forward after an impressive off season but was embarrassed by the Raiders pack that day. Steamrolled in defence and smashed every hit up in attack.
Soon after we realise he’s not strong enough to play up front and move him to an edge. His poor lateral movement in defence will be found wanting in 2025 just like it was last year.
Even when he does make a tackle he seems to trip over the ball carrier and is unable to clear the ruck.
did you see what joffa did to lomax... that clown was part of the leadership group at tigers when he was here, says it all
deadset muppet

Honestly can't believe it is even a story.

After last night’s display Brent Naden’s place in the opening round against Newcastle comes a lot closer to reality. He looks the goods this year, very athletic indeed. From this performance I think he’s a shoe in.I know there will be a chorus of detractors, but there is so much natural talent here, and up till now largely unrealised.I have a feeling being reunited with a couple of cool headed ex teammates, will have a very positive outcome for BN this year.

Natural talent has never been an issue, he has all the attributes to be one of the best centres in the game. His mental lapses always let him down at some point.
For me to really be supportive of him moving forward, he needs to prove over an extended period of time that he can control the mental part of the game.

If he plays well again next week he’ll be there for sure 👍

A focussed and disciplined Naden gives us a huge boost. It fills a spot we are very weak in. If last nights form is the beginning of a new improved Naden it's a huge bonus for us
If we could get just a good '25 season from him it would really help us continue to move ahead.
