@canberratiger unless one of them has a break out season. Ball is in their court
Well of course but they have had plenty of opportunities so far to have that but haven't.
As we've seen in the past not many players come to the Tigers and improve. Api is probably one of the few who could say he improved or, at least, did not regress as a player. Ice did ok for 7 or 8 games last year but did not reach the heights he showed at the Eels prior to his time at the Tigers. But one of the things I like about our signings this year is that they all have something to prove imo.
Romey needs to prove he can not only play the lead in the halves but have an impact at a club that hasn't had success for a long time.
Terrell needs to show he can be as good without JWH and Collins setting a platform.
Royce needs to show he can play 25-35 mins a game and have the impact he did in the 15-20 minutes he played at the Sharks.
Tito needs to show he can be as good at a the Tigers as he was at the Panthers.
Jeral needs to prove he can play NRL at a high and consistent level.
Jack needs to prove he can be a leader in the forward pack and the club in general.
All this and we haven't touched on what some of the younger guys need to prove as well, Can Lachie improve on his first year in the NRL, the same with Luke. Can Tallyn take his game to another level? And how about Jahream? Can Samuela have a better year? Can Latu prove he can push for a spot?
They all need to prove that they can improve as individuals and if the majority of them do then the team will also improve.
There's a lot of individual things that we need to go right in 2025.
If they do, It could be a WOW of a season..
I know this is not a signing; however, it does relate to Stefano moving to the Storm. I was quite certain that Storm could not afford him, as they were stacked in the front row...and everywhere else and were therefore not a threat to sign him. They were also seeking approval from the NRL, which they got, without any discernable player movement. So, I was quite surprised that they got him on reportedly good coin. Well now the talk is that Cristian Welch has decided to medically retire...the whole thing has a stink around it, yet not a peep from the media.
I'm sure the leader's at storm have had this front of mind for ages.
Player gets money, team gets salary cap space and replacement.
Nothing suspicious, right?
Yes, clubs part owned by Newscorp have a way of doing things don’t they. Great business acumen I guess you’d call it. I prefer exploitation of the “cap” but there you go.I know this is not a signing; however, it does relate to Stefano moving to the Storm. Indeed. And now they have spots available & a little cash do you think Alex Seyfarth could be a target? The type of player, coming into his prime, who’d thrive down there. Won’t matter if Richo can extend him but….I’m sure Christian will be well looked after post footy by the Storm.Yes, clubs part owned by Newscorp have a way of doing things don’t they. Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that forward Alex Seyfarth will extend his stay with the club after signing a new three-year deal.
The contract extension means the 26-year-old will remain in Wests Tigers colours until at least the end of the 2028 season.
A Balmain junior from the Dundas Shamrocks, the hard-working forward made his NRL debut for the club in 2020 and has played 70 NRL matches to date.
He was rewarded for his form last year with selection in the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII side and went on to start in the 42-20 victory over the PNG Prime Minister’s XIII.
“I’m really pleased and excited to have re-signed with this club, it means a lot to me and my family,” Seyfarth says.
“We have a really great group here.
“I can't wait to rip in with my teammates for a few more years."
Head Coach Benji Marshall praised Seyfarth as a valuable member of the squad.
“We are stoked to have Alex and his family with us long term,” Marshall says.
"He is a great asset to the team and we love his energy and passion he brings on and off the field."
