So, do you think all or most clubs have contracted players with similar early-exit options that these articles about Luai and Bula (and Stef we know about) refer to?My guess would be someone high up in the old administration
Mine too. I also think it is probably linked to the Miller case and trying to discredit the current administration to gain leverage.
It certainly gives Richardson strong scope to punt Marshall early in 2025 if things don't start well and rumblings from Luai, Galvin, Bula are reported - or invented and leaked to Chammas and media hacks as a further act of revenge by disgruntled ex-Board types, which seems to be your bigger concern.
Yes most clubs do, Dylan Brown for example has 6 years of player options in his contract.

No idea, and that’s the point. We shouldn’t actually know what the details of a contract is. They are not public documents and I would say they would be classified as commercial in confidence. Someone has leaked the details to gain an advantage. That’s where the focus should be. Whomever has leaked the details of the documents should held accountable.

Im not sure that its "most" clubs. Parra have a lot of player options. I was scanning Zerotackle prior to the Laui revelation specifically to see how many clubs had PO's and there were only a few, none of the top 8 clubs. Parra have a lot, mind you ZT didnt have Luai's PO so no idea how relaible or accurate they are.
Strangely, the only PO they have listed for the Tigers is a PO for Tim Johannsen for 2026 despite not having a top 30 Contract for 2025.

Harry Grant's contract at the storm has player options, as do player's at the roosters.

Saint, Sinner, Shoosh: Tigers set to tie down Galvin on whopping deal
How the Wests Tigers will spend the John Bateman money, the clubs interested in Roosters star Brandon Smith, and possible State of Origin changes. All that and more in Saint, Sinner, Shoosh.
The Wests Tigers’ bid to retain Lachlan Galvin on a long-term deal could be given a helping hand as English forward John Bateman edges towards the exit door.
Galvin has another two years remaining on his contract with the Tigers but the club is intent on extending his deal in a bid to ensure he doesn’t head on the open market, where he would command plenty of attention from the Tigers’ rivals.
Batman’s future could have an impact on those plans.
The English international looks set to join South Sydney, where he would be reunited with his former England coach Wayne Bennett.
That would free up a significant amount of money for the Tigers, which they could then use to help extend the contract of Galvin, who is with the club until the end of 2026.

Galvin was one of the shining lights for the Tigers last season, only suspension preventing him winning the Dally M rookie of the year award.
He has upped the ante this pre-season, smashing his own records in fitness testing in a sign that he is not resting on his laurels.
The arrival of Jarome Luai shapes as the other big lever the Tigers will pull in their bid to retain Galvin given the pair have the potential to form one of the most potent halves combinations in the NRL.
Luai has signed a long-term deal with the Tigers although he has the ability to leave after the 2026 season, the same time Galvin comes off contract.
The Tigers will do everything in their power to convince the pair to stay well into the future as they look to build the club around a pair of playmakers capable to stacking up against any in the competition.

If we don't extend Galvin then we should never deal with Moses again. Even if Bula signs with him.
@mike And, I totally agree. But we can only speculate as to who is responsible.
I have my theory, but as this is not that "other" WT forum, I won't post it, pretend to have greater knowledge than others, and insult those who don't agree.
If we don't extend Galvin then we should never deal with Moses again. Even if Bula signs with him.

NRL 2025: Wests Tigers fullback Jahream Bula’s odd contract clause that could see him released early
In yet another significant contract development at the Wests Tigers, Jarome Luai is not the only player who can move at the end of 2026 due to an unorthodox contract clause.
Wests Tigers rising star Jahream Bula could get out of his contract 12 months early due to an unorthodox clause that could also work in the club’s favour.
In yet another significant contract development at the Wests Tigers, Bula could be on the move at the end of 2026, despite the club heralding his re-signing through until the end of 2027.
Bula, who has played 39 games at fullback since making his NRL debut and being named the club’s best player in 2023, has a mutual option written into his contract at the Wests Tigers for 2027.

The mutual option involves the club being able to re-sign Bula in 2027 for the figure of no less than $900,000.
Under the terms, Bula is unable to reject the offer if the club wishes to keep him at the club for 2027.
The $900,000 offer will remain on the table until mid-May, 2026.
If the Wests Tigers believe Bula isn’t worth $900,000, the club has the power to provide the 22-year-old with the chance to test the open market for 2027.
This is where a rival club could blow the Wests Tigers out of the water.
However, if there is little appetite for Bula on the open market at that time, the option states that he can stay at the Wests Tigers for 2027, however at the reduced rate of around $800,000.
Bula recently married his partner Aaliyah. Picture: Supplied
The Bula deal was orchestrated by both the previous club management of former CEO Justin Pascoe and the strike fullback’s former management team of Ultra Management.
Bula has recently linked with Cove Agency, led by Isaac Moses.
The Bula revelation pours a further spotlight on their entire spine with Lachlan Galvin (off-contract 2026), Api Koroisau (2026), Luai (2029, but with options to get out of 2026) and Bula, all potentially off-contract within the next two seasons.
The Tigers have made no secret of their desire to re-sign Galvin, the outstanding rookie halfback.
Something is going on. That’s 3 articles in ad many days about West Tigers players’s contracts. Someone has an agenda.

exactly he had others deal with him to get the teddy deal done
unfortunately we will have to learn to deal with Moses especially if he signs bula as well
Surely it's not for us to pass judgement on the work of Isaac Moses, that should be up to those he manages - and, I suspect, their family/parents/hangers-on. If he can convince them that WT is not the place to be, that's not an issue for Moses, it's an issue for WT, and clubs in similar positions.
@tiger5150 On my honesty and integrity scale, I'd have Politis and Moses equal as bottom dwellers
🚨Facebook rumour - Galvin has re-signed with the club 🚨
