This line up proves a few things to me.
- Standards drive selection or retention (exit Makasini)
Not knocking you Tgrzmn, just using your post to make a point.
I strongly disagree with Benjis "Driving standards" approach and in particular dropping Makasini this week.
Of course I want the club to have and "drive standards" but effectively (from the outside looking in) unless Makasini isnt training well, it looks like he has been dropped because of two bad dropped balls. He also ran for 184m.
I understand the message that "driving standards" conveys to the players and of course it is good to "drive" high standards, but you know what other message it conveys to the players? "Dont drop the f...ing ball"! or...translated further "Dont try that risky offload" or "Dont take that risk".
Interesting hypothetical of if Sheens had "driven standards" in this way and dropping players for a couple of dropped balls whether we would have had the joy of 2005 or even 2010, 2011? Would Benji have even had a career?
Compare the messages...."Maka...you dropped the ball twice so your dropped"...."Maka, you had a bad week but we believe in you and want you to continue to take risks and develop"
As an experienced leader in corporate, sometimes I need to protect my young guns from themselves.
Makasini is a star and this rest will ensure that he regains composure. He will be mack very soon
Remember he is still only 18
Sami Sasagi ruled out for them.

Sounds strange on a Thursday… in a day full of stats has anyone got our Thursday win rate handy ?Game day!!
@teddy_s As Benji would say .... Not interested in the past, this is a new team, our Thursday win record starts tonight.
Bash em

In the NRL era (1998–present), the Wests Tigers have played 19 matches on Thursday nights, resulting in an overall record of 7 wins and 12 losses (a 36.8% win rate).
Well, we've found a way to f**K up this half 😞
Still not clinical enough when we have the momentum. Silly offloads & cheap penalties from our most experienced players. If we respect the ball a bit more, we should still have enough in the 2nd half
A team with no direction.. left right right left get someone on that can direct this rabble honestly !
@lfc_tiger This team again had enough ball in the first 20 to be 20 in front .. heaps of ball just no idea what to do with it this is what happens when you don’t have an organising half its run baby run only !
Terrell with that dumb offload attempt handed them the chance to grab the momentum.
We are our worst enemy just about every week.
Patience!!
