I think I lost a lot of people but not much else outside of him, maybe Ken. He has had 8 offloads which is twice more than anyone else this year at our club so not all bad. I just think the whole backline is questionable, I want to give them, him in particular, another 2 or 3 games before changing too much. With Bateman coming into the side soon and with Kepoa looking promising as well as the likes of Justin Matamua playing well in State Cup it begs the question what does our best 18 look like if all available?

Bula is miles off a FG standard #1 for me.
All for giving him a run on a wing in the back end of the season if the situation arises, but let's be realistic.
A long term prospect or you just don’t rate him?

No I like him, but I'm not sure he's the FB type long term. At very least he should be a good FG winger.

Im being a bit facetious but I think I remember 6 of those 8 offloads being panicked hail marys back inside as he went over the side line to a player in a worse position.

Ken, Tupou, Staines, Bula (when available), all better options IMO

Ken available round 4.

Not sure how many were ordinary, haven’t bothered looking back at them but some were no doubt. He does have it in him and in what I think is a pretty poor backline I think it’s an attribute that can help if not done just for the sake of it. He also can finish pretty well. But as I posted before he’s one of a few I’d like to see more of over the next 2 or 3 weeks.I think I lost a lot of people but not much else outside of him, maybe Ken. Are the Wests Tigers forwards aggressive enough? Who out of the pack can hurt the opposition in defence? Just curious to see what people think.

We aren't playing through the middle enough this year, it is a big issue. Blore and Pole both hit pretty well in defence.

Blore can but doesn’t play much. Given a good run of games it’d be interesting to see. I can’t recall Pole pulling off any crunching tackles but maybe I missed some. I just think we’re not as aggressive in defence as some other teams. Seem to toil okay but nothing special otherwise, to me anyway. Are the Wests Tigers forwards aggressive enough? We don't play with aggression in any aspect of the game. As Steve would say we are missing that type A predator in the front row.

I think he'd probably be ready to play on the wing in FG tomorrow, but #1 is a different story. Organising a defence, tracking the ball behind the line, covering ground and diffusing kicks. And in attack, chiming in through the middle, playing as a second #6 on sweep plays etc.
I just think two weeks in a relatively unchallenged NSW cup team is far too short of an apprenticeship to play #1 in a battling team against the best RL players on the planet.
Then again, your second question makes me uncomfortable and throw out everything I've said above...

Well put. I pushed you because I was as naturally hesitant about him , but I have genuinely seen enough to see he is better than Laurie and Staines as a fullback in attack. IMO he is a genuine FB in attack. Cant vouch for his work in defence.
It’s good to see Topou in this week and I’m keen to see what Staines can do at fullback. Bula looking good in State Cup and Ken goes ok but his knees are a concern. Topou and Staines probably best 2 on wing and Bula at fullback but won’t see that for a while yet.I think I lost a lot of people but not much else outside of him, maybe Ken.
