Wests Tigers have again suffered injuries, with another two players set to miss game time, a theme that has run through so much of this season.
Kicking off the season in such style, almost every match that the Wests Tigers have played this season has seen at least one key player come away injured, and this seems to be the primary reason why missing the finals again looks a real chance. Is it simply bad luck? Is it a curse? Or is this something that is a result of us being improperly prepared for the rigours of NRL 2026? We talk about that issue on this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast. Also up for discussion between Joel, Nick and Josh are some of the main turning points in that 36-22 loss to the Dolphins at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday evening. A few guys get some big wraps, but despite a solid effort, the guys fell short against a team that looks near certainties for a top four finish. There's also an update regarding the future of Jake Averillo, and we discuss the ongoing use of Heamasi Makasini and how he might need a break, or at least some time in NSW Cup. We run our eye over the NSW Cup player that may get a debut with the injury to Patrick Herbert, Solomone Saukuru. Join us for a look at all the 'One Word' responses to the Dolphins game on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum as well. And hear about the movie stars that one member of the podcast has been rubbing shoulders with! Thanks for your support, and we'll catch you mid-week for the next edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast.

Good listen once again guys and some very valid points brought up. Especially that of Makasini playing the rest of the season in cup. What I saw of Saukuru impressed me and he deserves at least a bench spot come the weekend.
So I’ve racked my brains for a starting side for the trio to Newwie… few controversials
1 Bula
2 Tavana R
3 May R
4 Doueihi L
5 To’a
6 Latu Fainu
7 Batman/ Luai
8 May
9 Koriosau
10 Twal
11 Sukkar
12 Sione Fainu
13 Seyfarth
14 Lenyard
15 Bunty
16 Pole
17 Murray
18 Skelton
19 Mason
20 Saukura
I'd love to see Latu play in the halves in NRL but not if AD is back this week, based on how he played at 7 earlier this season. With Jock out this week, I'd sadly bring Latu back into the 14 jersey. I'd actually be very tempted to leave Latu in Cup for another crack in the halves and give Javon a debut off the bench in the NRL.Good listen once again guys and some very valid points brought up. I just think AD will need some time to get back in the swing of things and centre would work well. Latu is fit and raring but would play him at 6 and see how his running game goes with Jerome back at 7 for a couple of weeks until Adam’s back firing.
I actually think Taruva is in horrible form also and a stint back in cup isn’t out of question. Actually liked the game of Tavana in cup last week and if played on right wing could be an airial threat against the knights winger I can’t think of.

Looks like you got most of the players right but not so many in the positions they were finally selected in. Benji tends to be a lot less controversial with his choices. Hopefully Tia can keep playing well now he has signed a new contract with Manly. I wonder if we lose will the media blame his announcement of leaving next season as the reason like they pinned our poor firm on Luai? Not just the media either, I think we can look a bit closer to home to find that criticism too.
Get behind the lads and help inspire them to finish this season well.
