As I understand, the club required a loan from the NRL in 2014. So it should be applauded for its ability to become financially sustainable since then.

However, the club brand and lack of onfield success requires accountability in the boardroom and the head office.

The wests tigers is a professional sporting club. Surely, the main goal for any professional sporting organisation is on-field success. Thereafter, off field commercial success associated with the brand, merchandise, memberships and sponsorships should follow.

it is a wonder we have managed the latter in light of the lack of onfield success.

Our missing ingredient, in my opinion, is a hard nosed CEO who negotiates aggressively, keeps club business confidential and puts the board and football department in its place.

All correct 👍

Our club lacks everything that a true business that is accountable to its own actions has ...so in reality we have no leaders

That’s right, everyone else has been held accountable except the CEO, Chairman and the board.

So, if it wasn’t the other people, by process of elimination it has to be….

And the GM of football

Sheens has still got a bit more equity at this stage for me.

SPOTTED: The Wests Tigers on the charm offensive with select media at well-known rugby league lunch venue Grappa in Leichhardt.

Tigers director of football Tim Sheens and chairman Lee Hagipantelis hosted a handful of journos on Tuesday as the club looks to try and improve its image.

The Tigers embarked on a similar exercise earlier in the year at the same venue – the irony being previous head coach Michael Maguire was also present.

Grappa is well-known as the alternative Rugby League Central for some of the biggest names in the game.

Owner Charlie Colosi is famous for rolling out the red carpet with his signature slow-cooked lamb shoulder or the tagliolini pasta with WA crab meat, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, garlic, chilli and parsley.

Ever the quality host, Charlie always insists on a limoncello at the end of every meal
