@helmesy looks like he had a night out on the beers and the sprint training isn’t sitting well with him. That’s a pre-vom pic if ever I’ve seen one.

I think I read he’s an assistant with the NSW cup team.

Great to have him back, he should have played his whole career here.

Yes, assistant coach for NSW Cup, may get a bigger role when Benji takes over.

I'm not sure that's a good thing. As a player Heighno was whole-hearted but limited. Gave his best. That doesn't make him am asset in a coaching role. And, if his ABC radio efforts are anything to go by, he's no orator either. The whole "return to the glory days" strategy with appointments such as Sheens, Marshall, Farah and, supposedly, Heighington, reeks of a club with no real idea of how to be more competitive.

To be honest I think that is a bit harsh on Chris, he has been involved in the career of multiple surfers, including World Champions and runs his own sports performance business. I think he probably has something to add, especially in the areas of preparation and training. This is the blurb about his business on its Webpage.

Chris Heighington Sports Performance

CHSP was formed in 2013 by elite athlete and Sports Performance Coach Chris Heighington. Well known for winning the National Rugby League 2005 premiership with the West Tigers and again in 2016 with the Cronulla Sharks, Chris is one of only 42 players to amass over 300 NRL first grade games.

Chris has helped numerous athletes as a Sports Performance Coach with his unique combination of discipline and passion, coupled with knowledge and experience from more than 20 years competing and training at the highest NRL level.

Chris has coached beginners, emerging and established athletes covering a range of sports including rugby league, surfing, cricket, soccer and skateboarding.

Chris’s commitment and passion for developing and mentoring athletes and passion of ensuring children develop age-appropriately within sport, has seen his school holiday clinics and academies for children and youth grow exponentially on the Central Coast.

Tuki looking like his finally lost that baby fat and toned up some.

Hopefully he realises his potential this coming season and puts in the hard work to push into the top 17. 🐅
