Complete stitch up.
Punishment for Richos comments about the Vegas round.
we better not receive any bloody Thursday night home games this year
The bye in the opening round of a new season is so disappointing for fans and I would imagine the players alike. It diminishes the excitement and anticipation that typically accompanies the start of a season.
Bye rd 1 virtually means you get only 2 byes compared to other teams getting 3. Even if you get a bye rd 2 or 3 you get the opportunity to tinker with things, should you need to, once you’ve seen the team play a game or two. I hope the 2 byes we receive during the season will be spaced well enough to be of benefit to us. Surely we deserve that much.
@jedi-tiger What about that great time of Friday at 6pm.
oh yes that is a shocking time agreed, we want none of those 6pm on a friday or 6.30pm sunday
I wonder if our refusal to play in Las Vegas was a factor?

I'm looking at it in a positive lens... An extra week for Latu to recover and a week for us to get a look at all the other teams.
I wonder if our refusal to play in Las Vegas was a factor?
Absolutely! If AI was considering all aspects of the draw including fairness and history there is no way we cop the bye for Rd 1.
Maybe the NRL asked AI to make the draw after Rd 1 was decided on!
I wonder if our refusal to play in Las Vegas was a factor?
Not at all
Richo was clear that he supported the initiative but that 2026 was nit the right time and that 2027 would be better for the club and the game itself

Despite the fact the Wests Tigers have copped a Round 1 bye for the second time in 3 years, there’s a lot to like about the 2026 Draw for Benji Marshall’s men.
- It might be a delayed start to the 2026 season for Tigers fans, but their season will kick-off at the Eighth Wonder – Leichhardt Oval – on Saturday, 14 March against the North Queensland Cowboys.
- A couple of away trips will follow – against the South Sydney Rabbitohs (Gosford) and the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland – before facing the Parramatta Eels (away) on Easter Monday at CommBank Stadium.
- Back-to-back games at Campbelltown Sports Stadium will follow when the Wests Tigers face the Newcastle Knights and reigning Premiers, the Brisbane Broncos.
- Magic Round (Round 11) will see the Tigers face the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.
- The Wests Tigers will host the Penrith Panthers at CommBank Stadium (Round 14), playing for the Royce Simmons Cup on the King’s Birthday Long Weekend.
- Leichhardt Oval will host its final NRL game in Round 15 (v Gold Coast Titans) prior to being redeveloped.
- The back half of the regular season will see the Wests Tigers stay primarily in NSW – with road trips to Newcastle and Canberra – before an away trip to the North Queensland Cowboys in Round 26.
