@tiger_alex The last thing we need is a change of the head coach at this stage. However, I just listened to the latest podcast and all the problems mentioned there, like penalties, six agains, and lack of direction/management, come down to coaching. The head coach is more a man manager these days but maybe some changes in Benji's boys club is required.

@helmesy Willie Peters has had plenty of exposure to good systems and coaching Hull , signed a long term contract that could be bought out .. has apparently connections with Richo just throwing out options . I said last week Imo all will be revealed in 6 weeks whether Marshall had the goods 5 rounds to go !

Brad Arthur under Benji yes. Benji under Brad Arthur is a big NO from me. Benji is the man manager, no question, and that’s what the head coach is. Benji needs better underneath him.

@tonza Marshalls boys club will be his downfall .. need to surround yourself with professionals especially when you are an inexperiences coach yourself , life is a learning experience!

I’d be quite happy if Marshall is sacked or stood down to have Morris as coach. He was my first choice after McGuire got the boot. Did a credible job at Cronulla

Zero interest in Arthur. Not really sure on Benji, but he's got the toughest gig in the comp as he's coaching a terrible squad, with very little depth. Until the club can get their development and recruitment right, the coach isn't going to be overly relevant.

There are certainly issues, but I think he's largely doing an admirable job at this stage. Crunch time will come when the squad is something to write home about.

If, for whatever reason, we were to look elsewhere, I would be looking to the next great coach rather than a re-hash of someone like Arthur. Someone with a CV like Ryles (obviously not him specifically) - a few good assistant jobs in good systems.

@dirty-reds I agree that the club needs to resist resurrecting any has-been coaches (as they did with Sheens) IF Marshall is not viable into the future. Josh Hannay seems to be the flavour of the month in that regard. No idea of other assistants in club land at the moment, other than those we don't want; Trent Barrett, Justin Holbrook etc.

Problem with this is if you replace Benji with another inexperienced coach it will likely end the same way. Our club does not have the resources of a Bulldogs or a Parramatta to support a younger less experienced coach. Not sure how Sharks do it as they are in a dire financial position and TBH the jury is still out on Parramatta being a success under Ryles, take Moses and Lomax (who were both developed under a different coach) out of that team and they are certainties for the wooden spoon.

Prior to Marshall we had 2 premiership winning coaches in charge how did that end up. Just like players when it comes to coaches we need to look to the future not past
