We need Sheens to assist the club in developing a footballing identity that supersedes him as coach. The assistants need to be steeped in this to ensure that we don’t have a rebuild every time we lose a coach.
Personally I’d take Nathan Brown. He runs hard and we can use some more starch and experience in the middle.
So predictions for assistants? I'm guessing Kimmorely and Robbie
Well if Sheens is to mentor an assistant to take over - who would you prefer to be the long term NRL coach?

I hope Robbie is involved and Benji too. Maybe it is nostalgia, but I’d love for us to play that expansive game again that defined the Sheens/Benji/Robbie era..
Maybe even through Fitzhenry in there as an assistant as well. 🤣

When I interview Tim last weekend, he made the joke about everyone saying Fitzy was his son.

Tim Sheens tells Wests Tigers he’s ready to take top job
Wests Tigers supremo Tim Sheens has indicated to the club that he is willing to step into the hot seat and coach the club next season.
Sources with knowledge of the situation told the Herald that Wests Tigers powerbrokers have approached Sheens to see if he has any interest in returning to NRL coaching a decade after he was sacked by the club.

While the Tigers are still exploring their coaching options for next year, there has been huge support from club greats for Sheens to fill the void created by Michael Maguire’s sacking earlier this season.
The club has approached Sheens to gauge his appetite and are considering offering him the job for next season.
The club knows the 71-year-old would be a short-term solution. He would help get the club back on track and mentor a group of assistants, eventually grooming one of them to take over when he finishes up in a couple of years.
The Tigers are also considering making an offer to Eels forward Nathan Brown to join the club. Brown was recently granted a release from his management company Ignite Sports, which is led by Joe and Johnathan Wehbe.
Brown, who returned to the NRL against the Tigers on Saturday night after a stint in reserve grade, is currently in discussions with other agents.
He will then sit down with the Tigers to discuss a potential return to the club.
Parramatta is unlikely to stand in his way. He has another year to run on his deal.
There's no quotes here from Sheens or anyone at the club. I don't think Chammas knows anything to be honest he is just cheerleading for Sheens because it will get a few clicks.
Why hasn't Kristian Woolf has not announced what he is going to do? The UK media are asking him about it in every press conference but he doesn't answer. If he was joining the Dolphins as an assistant why not just announce it?
Woolf is managed by Isaac Moses who also manages Todd Payten. Maybe Moses is trying get new jobs for both of his clients?

A) There hasn't been any news on a Payten contract extension at NQ for close on a month (I think i posted the last Courier mail article on this thread)
B) Woolf could easily get the Uk media off his back if he just said 'im going back to redcliffe to work under Wayne next year.' Why does he say "I will decide in the near future" ?
Woolf is from Mt Isa and was in Townsville to start his coaching career. He's got strong connections to the cowboys club and players like Taumalolo who he has coached.
On the flip side, Sheens and Payten are super tight. Everyone on here knows their history.

If the club can make that happen.... that woukd be amazing and it's the type of cut throat action we need from admin

Yep, all makes sense. Sheens plan B for 2023. We’ll see what happens 😆
I believe that Patten will not have to make a call until next year on his coaching with the cowboys if he is looking at moving to the tigers. He will not want to upset the team and management going into a season.
Ciraldo is only signing for one year at the Panthers do management think he is still a chance in 2024?
I recall Sheens saying at the Ambush event about 2 weeks ago that he & his wife had bought a property in the UK & they were looking at retiring there. Given he’s 74 would he really want to coach, or even be at the club, for another 2 or 3 years? If there is still a desire to coach would he regret not taking it on as you’d think this would be his last opportunity? I can understand him coming back here to be an ambassador for the club for a year or two (it’s now turned into Head of Football role) but the coaching gig I doubt. But as we all know he does have a great love of the game, still seems in good health, strong & plenty of energy. There’s good people now at the club, great facilities for the job & he likes working with young players. I’ve no doubt he has a big opinion of Api too, he spoke how important the spine is to a team & Api will have more touches of the ball than anyone. I’d like to see him as coach but I’d also understand if they went with someone like John Morris.
