@anygivensunday …at full strength AD and AJ could get the job done in the centres

Starford's highest potential appears to be at centre also.

I'd add Peachey to that list as well after today
I hear Angus Crichton might not be a sure thing at the roosters atm. If true, dolphins would be throwing the kitchen sink at him but surely we’d be a shot as well. He would be a great fit for us…Papalii and Angus edge pairing with api at hooker is tantalisingly delicious.

He has a history with Maguire, but I don’t see him leaving Roosters.

I have an uneasy feeling about Crichton. Excellent player no doubt but IMO not the kind of blood and bone player we need. Is a very good player in a very good team when he is not expected to do the tough stuff that he would need to do here. IMO Crichton is the player you get when you order Cam Murray on Wish.com.
Who the hell am I kidding? I would love him here but not the one to throw the kitchen sink at.
I too doubt Crichton would leave the Roosters. Good hole runner though, we need one of those.
@anygivensunday Unfortunately for him with injuries he has been thrusted straight to first grade .. really needs a couple of months in the Reggie’s .
This season he will learn heaps and what it will take to step up to the NRL …
A good off season on the weights etc some much needed knowledge I reverse my judgement until then .. it was always going to be a big step up but he does seem likely up to him !

Dolphins need halves / spine players
Drinkwater seems to have refound his early Melbourne form ......maybe we could tempt younger Quadja ....
And sign Crichton as well

Dolphins need anyone they can get. I saw they recruited Robert Jennings today…it’s getting desperate

Maybe Mikaele next

I think Mikaele will be at the dolphins. He only signed an extension with us for this year.
So, we’re after a centre and not a back rower to replace Garner. I wonder what this tells us about the futures of Talau, Kepaoa, Gildart and Doueihi…
Penrith-bound Luke Garner needed just one phone call from Ivan Cleary to convince him to join the premiers, as the Wests Tigers turn their attention to finding a new centre rather than a replacement back-rower.
Garner will link with the premiers on a two-year deal next year, with Cleary the man who handed the 26-year-old his NRL debut while coaching the Tigers back in 2018.
With Kelma Tuilagi and Luciano Leilua also departing for Manly and North Queensland at the end of the season, the Tigers will have an alarming lack of depth in their second-row stocks.
Isaiah Papali’i joins from the Eels next year and the club has also held talks with Cronulla’s Briton Nikora, while Shawn Blore will return from a knee injury. Jack Bird was briefly discussed by the Tigers, but he is expected to resign with the Dragons.
The centre position has become the Tigers’ top priority. Garner has certainly enjoyed his time in the centres, and even scored a long-range try when out-running good mate and Manly master Tom Trbojevic on the weekend.
“I’m having dinner with Tom on Tuesday night. Hopefully he shouts - he earns enough money to shout everyone on the northern beaches to dinner,” Garner quipped.
As for the Panthers move, which was only confirmed last week, Garner said: “Ivan contacted me about six weeks ago and asked me what my plans were for next year. I didn’t have any, and that’s how things kicked off.
“It’s always exciting when a team or anyone shows interest in you. I’ve worked with Ivan in the past, we’ve got along well, he gave me my debut in 2018, and I’m sure we can build that relationship even more.
“They’re losing Viliame Kikau next year, but I know how footy works, that back-row position won’t be given to me, I’ll have to work for it, but I look forward to pushing myself to win that spot.”
Garner, who grew up on the Gold Coast before playing under-20s with Manly, said he would eventually have to leave the northern beaches when he officially became a Panther
He is determined to finish his final year at the Tigers in style, and happy to continue plying his trade in the outside backs while needed.
Meanwhile, Tigers prop Stefano Utoikamanu was “pretty pissed off” he was sin-binned for holding a Manly player down in a tackle on Saturday, despite not even being on the field to hear referee Adam Gee’s repeated warnings.
While Utoikamanu was in the bin, Manly raced in two first-half tries.
“I didn’t know until half-time the ref had warned the boys with the bin if there was an infringement,” Utoikamanu said.
“I thought it was harsh. I thought he wouldn’t be as harsh on me because he had just seen me come on. I thought I was pretty hard done by. I was pretty pissed off, especially when we went down to 12 men. It was a big turning point in the game.”
