Worst outside back in the comp. Anyone know if it was a Madge or Hartigan signing?

Give him time. Unfortunately, due to injuries, that is going to be in the NRL. His main problem is positioning and not relying on his inside man to do their job. This can be learnt. He can tackle and is elusive in attach and makes good post contact meters despite his size. He is worth persevering with IMO.

Sorry Mike ...but he has played 40 good minutes in 8 rds ...if that was anyone else we'd all be up in arms ....can you imagine everyone's reaction if it was Brooks , Liddle , Tamou .....

He’s had 7 NRL games. The NRL is not Super League. It would be better if he could spend some time in reserves for sure but injuries means he will be in the NRL side. Brooks, Tamou and even Liddle are NRL veterans in comparison. I’m not giving up on Gildart. He has a lot of positives.

Blokes like Cini and Pauga didn't get 7 chances .......Gildart defensively is a liability

Cini & Pauga are not in the same league as Gildart. Agree that he has defensive issues but these can be fixed.

I started watching the Drags Game again, (Insomnia = Bad choices)

Gilly did have that lapse that cost us. He's not the worst on the park

Took some hard early hit ups, supports the ball player and recently he darts out of dummy half

He has a good attitude and great intent. His adaptation to the Aussie version of NRL and Défense will get there.

Im not giving up on him yet

Defence as a centre is far more important than attack .....look how often poor defenders are weeded out of the NRL

This week we have one centre who can’t attack and one that can’t defend 😆

I can't agree Mike. He hasn't got anything going for him unfortunately. He's not overly fast, he stifles the attack when he gets the ball and he is clueless in defence. I've seen enough

Surely we've had weeks when both centres can't do either .....

Sadly true!

Dave Riccio reporting that the Tigers still haven’t started talks with Laurie. Really interesting because we’ve been linked to Kade skyes and someone from the Penrith forum linked us to TURUVA from the Panthers.

3 weeks ago it was questionable whether Laurie should be in the 1st grade side.

What's the kurfuffle..?

Absolutely no rush to sign Laurie, this smells of a manager trying to pressure the club.

In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)

Thanks for posting, an entertaining read. Good luck to Luke, I hope taking a pay cut works out for him.

They are the 'rolls royce' of NRL after all and obviously we are a Hyundai i30

When you hear how glowering the manager speaks of his move to the Panthers on less money - you realise what an easy job the top teams have in recruitment compared to teams that haven't made finals like us.

Nothing against Garner- have been impressed with him this year.  But he's no kikau.

And we will have blore and papalili next year

I commented on Garner with tongue firmly in cheek. Garner is a squad player who can do a job when needed, his game has not developed over the past 2 seasons. I find it difficult to believe he would take a pay cut to move to another club. My take on it is that he was told to look elsewhere.

I agree. I wouldn’t be breaking the bank for him.

Took some hard early hit ups, supports the ball player and recently he darts out of dummy half

He has a good attitude and great intent. His adaptation to the Aussie version of NRL and Défense will get there.

Im not giving up on him yet

I'm also not ready to give up on him.

Blokes travelled to the other side of the globe to test himself in the premier rugby league competition.

He shows effort and enthusiasm, I can't imagine he isn't working double time to improve his deficiencies.

If injuries mean Gildart plays than compared to the qualities previous marquee centre signing Joey L offered,

I'll put up with Oli 8 days a week.

Should we just "put up " with any player .....might be the part of this clubs problem since 2012 ....fans accepting mediocrity
