So if Wayne Bennett is still interested in coaching could we maybe try to get him as a coaching director (similar to Gus’s current and Sheen’s previous roles)?

Has a relationship with Benji who might be willing to let him in and his name would provide clout for us in attracting and retaining players.

I was saying this the other day. He would be the perfect head of football.

I don’t think you’ll get him to move to Sydney again.

@helmesy he can work remote as far as I’m concerned. Strategy, recruitment, mentorship. Don’t need to be in concord for that imo. Could fly down once a month and would be still worth it imo.

Would Wayne be interested, after the way we treated Sheens?

The Wests Tigers have offered Jahream Bula a mega deal to make him the longest contracted player at the struggling club and the centrepiece of Benji Marshall’s rebuild.

Bula, a contender to be the NRL’s rookie of the year, is considering a multi-million dollar contract extension which will keep him at the Tigers until the end of 2027.

The 21-year-old still has another two years to run on his existing deal, but was so impressive in his debut season the Tigers have made his re-signing a priority after finishing with a second straight wooden spoon.

NRL rivals can’t lodge a formal offer to Bula until November 1 next year in a bid to sign him for 2026, but the Tigers have shown their hand by escalating contract talks in the past few weeks.

Tigers until the end of 2027.

Would prefer a longer deal but that’s something.

Honestly if we’re not a contender by then I don’t think it will really matter.

Watching the game on TV, I was thinking that no 2 for the Roosters looks good, maybe we should look at signing him

Then realise it's Jnr Pauga - who we let go because we didn't think he was first grade standard

He’s still such a dumb player we don’t want in our midsts. Touching that drop out inside the 10 was diabolical!!

This isn’t really true. My dads a big bears fan so I see a fair few of their games and keep an eye on them. He’s been good this year but still just above average NSW Cup level. He looked good last night but he can’t put games together.

as a side note he is only signed to the Bears in NSW cup and not the Roosters
