From SMH…

Tuilagi is bound for Manly on a three-year deal after Sea Eagles football manager Scott Fulton paid a visit to the 23-year-old’s western Sydney home on November 1 last year, the first day he could officially negotiate with the Samoan powerhouse.

So bloody frustrating that he was contracted to us and we stalled on negotiating a new deal/let him become a free agent.

I heard from someone I know with links to Manly that they’re paying him $250k a year. Absolute bargain.

I agree he is a big loss but to be fair, we have Papalii and Blore as starters for 2023 plus Tuilagi wasn’t exactly knocking the doors down last year. Though you could argue someone at manly can spot talent

I think Blore is a very good player but I’m worried about his durability.

Tuilagi hurts. Just listen to the guy speak, no excuses he is the real deal and you see it on the field. Papilli and tuilagi would be an awesome starting 2nd row. I’m keen on Blore but at this point he is a great defensive 2RF, he hasn’t shown anything in attack

Sorry Steve and Avo I normally agree with many of your posts yes Blore maybe a starter next season but he has done nothing yet for all the hipe around him. I hope I’m wrong for tigers sake but I don’t think he will turn out to be any better than Tuilagi

I tend to agree with you that the hype is a bit overdone. I see Blore as a good defensive backrower that could in time become very good. He’s only 21 and has played limited football. My biggest concern is his durability, he’s injured more than he’s not.

we should have beaten gold coast and new Zealand

the only  bad games were Newcastle and sharks

I don't think we are that far off, we will not get a better time to play parramatta, we need to get down into the trenches and make it a backyard brawl and a streetlight, niggle Brown and Moses and bait Gutho really get in their faces put them on the deck every time they touch the ball. Moses is a good player but when the going gets tough he goes missing, the ultimate flat track bully.

Do think a 7. Hastings 6 Brooks combo is just as good as 7. Moses 6 Brown combo, the difference is Gutho he is lightyears ahead of Laurie and Mahoney is light years ahead of Simpkin obviously.

Could off should off whould off but as usual we didn’t we lose against parr that will be9 straight yer we’re not far off

Briton Nikora has refused to rule out a shock move to the Wests Tigers, with the barnstorming backrower declaring himself still for sale after knocking back the Sharks.

Reported to be a done deal at the Sharks after rejecting the Tigers, News Corp can reveal that Nikora is still on the open market after knocking back a contract extension offer from the Sharks.
“That’s all in the hands of my manager,” Nikora said.
But I believe that is the case. He is looking after all of that, but all I know is that my future is very much still in the air and nothing has been ruled in or out.”
In a major blow that could force a recruitment rethink for the Sharks, Nikora’s manager Sam Ayoub last week rejected an extension offer from Cronulla.
It is understood the deal fell well short of the offers he has attracted from rivals, including the Tigers.
While he declined to talk about the offer, the Kiwi edge forward sensation did say that he would be forced to consider his financial future.
The Sharks signed Nikora for a bargain basement deal of $5000 when he 17.

“I love the Sharks,” Nikora said.
“And, of course, I would love to stay here. But I also have to think about what is best for myself and my family at this stage of my career. I have to consider what is out there. I really just want to stay out of all this and concentrate on my football.”
Nikora admitted that he could be tempted by a monster offer from the Tigers.
“I know Madge (Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire) from the Kiwis and he is a good fella and a good coach,” Nikora said.“I have a few things to weigh up but as I said, no decisions have been made and my manager will sort it out.”
Nikora said he will be available to play next week after missing the clash against the Storm because of Covid.
“I will be out of isolation on Monday,” Nikora said.
“It is a bummer I missed out on the game but I am hoping to be back for next week.

we need to target key positions and then target players with impact and experience and leadership qualities and then do whatever it takes to attract them to our club.

A sprinkling of top line experienced players added to the blokes we currently want to keep will see us closer to a top side than most people think I reckon.

Agree, Lets hope future impact signings match the salary cap outlay with on field impact.

Many recent examples the club better have learnt from -Packer, Reynolds, MBye or Sheens has his own example -Blair.

@CanberraTiger mentioned wanting to be a development club.

We all seem to agree that is the most logical/sustainable way forward.

Development Club = Contract Upgrades & Extensions.

Maintaining some cap flexibility is important to do these.

Yes upgrade if it happens but I fear Nikolai is only making noises to get more out of sharks. But like you hope it happens

@tiger5150 i reckon his passing and ability to create numbers for people outside of him is more advanced than brooks at a younger age. CHT also has a step that it seems brown has told him to put away.
