We have to be very careful who we sign and not make any silly knee jerk reactions to the hole we are in. We need a certain type of player to lift the club. We will only go backwards if we panic buy and stuff our cap. Names like Milford and Duffy have been thrown around, just don’t see them having the character to make a difference at a broken club. We need winners or at least harden pros who know the ropes and will have a dig. Gamble signings seldom come off.

Anthony Milford has become available ...desperate times call for big risks ??

That would be desperate but at this stage... He's like Benji. On his day, he's a great but on his down days he's poor (like most players I guess). I'm thinking no.

I must say it normally takes longer in the season for the frustration of fans (and team) get to me. It's not easy trying to be the voice of reason.

The other forum repelled me because it was hard to read some of the points of view (I had nearly 30 people blocked) and I thought the admins lost their way. Originally I felt the level of discussion here was higher but after the loss on the weekend I can see emotion just blinds people to reason and demonstrable fact.

That's cool, everyone's entitled to an opinion, but I'm a logical pragmatist so I find emotional and unfounded arguments, well, illogical. Hopefully the boys can jag a win to change the tone.

Welcome here VoR. I agree with you that IMO the level of discussion is higher here than the old forum, but lets also keep this place as a place where its possible for people to have very different opinions and be able to express them without it becoming personal.

That is the exact aim of this place, play the ball not the man is really what we are trying to achieve.

Well occasionally I like to flatten @geo off the ball ...it's good for my serenity and general mental health ...more of you ladies and gents should try it lol

I let those go through mate, the bunker would have to try and get me to make a call on those lol

Sargeant Schultz ....I know nothing .....lol .....

I just honestly can't see how the club and more importantly Madge can take too many more salvos without a win .....this is stuffing everything ...sponsors ...recruitment and retention .......you name it

I even have a sneaky feeling if Parra pummell us ....Madge might be at a real risk of being gone ... if we have a season of 3 or less wins ...we will take 3 steps backwards ......and the cliff face is only two steps away .....

I know I have argued about a wooden spoon being in our true best interests ....because the lies can't be ignored anymore from inside the club .....but can the club survive a spoon ...or better still recover from a spoon

We will survive, I fear, like you, that the only way some of these numbskulls will see the issues is with a spoon.

I don’t mind the idea of Milford as a fullback. He is a great runner of the ball, can pass and back ups well through the middle. Not sure if he still has the engine for fullback though.

If we don’t make drastic improvements to on field performance in the next 2-3 years I can see us folding.

We spend our cap on this squad?

And we don’t have a marquee player, beggars belief.

I looked at our odds against Parra, we are $9 for a win in a 2 horse race but Parra’s money is safe.

No one player can lift this club at present! But for sure, we do need to be astute with adding to the signings for next year. Milford is a much higher quality player than Dufty but I'd only agree with signing Milford if the contract is heavily in our favour and we're not throwing away big dollars.

I would take that. We need an experienced leader up front.

If I'm Sheens I'm swapping Brooks with a big forward from the knights asap

Also looking for a swap for liddle - imagine para are the best bet - given they have injured Hodgson next year and lost their final last year because stone was playing hooker.

Would love a big forward from parra also

Got to be more ruthless as a club and make the swap now- neither are playing top 17 next year

Top 8 2023
