@tigertownsfs I think his dad said a few years ago he’s never let his son go to the tigers , or some kind of sound bite for radio.
If that isn’t just saying stuff for clicks than I’m not sure that he’s an option . But like all things I guess , what was true yesterday doesn’t mean it’s true today .

pretty dumb thing to say. Limit your child’s career for a soundbite
Well, because you post so much you can cherry-pick comments to suit your agenda. You posted (something like) that Newcastle will not be in front of WT on the table by the end of the year. No qualification, no inference, stated it as a fact. When, it's not. It's your opinion. You just need to add a couple of words, such as, "in my opinion". As does Jedi, in my opinion.@mercy-rule um….. Jedi is right ! Hastings isn’t, nor was he ever the messiah , I have heard expressed about him on various message boards , and alternate podcasts .
And the ladder position of that team , and more importantly the style of play , is vindication of this fact .
As I said earlier , I’m not sure about anyone but brooks , but I will say it should be anyone but brooks not named hastings .
fact is brooks is still in front of Hastings on the Dally M leaderboard buy hey my opinion right....
And, if you go back to the post about Hastings v Brooks in the Dally M, I wasn't questioning that "fact"; it was the rest of your diatribe and inference from it that I questioned. And, you will notice, so did others.
so everyone should agree with you now mate.... ?
I better cheer for Hastings and Newcastle today against manly then I guess as I wouldn't want to say the wrong thing....

He bags the club fairly regularly.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
@jedi-tiger if it does he should take it. Chance to travel and he’d be a star over there. You’ve stated yourself many times he doesn’t want to leave Sydney. The club would know it as well so no need to get into a bidding war with a SL club
from what I understand he doesn't want to leave sydney but when it comes to contract negotiations who knows, Moses will be saying to Tigers this is the offer etc, I'd be surprised if he signs for anything less than 500k
plus we miss players all the time and no real replacements so doubt the club would baulk at 500k for a half
I agree that 500k for a half is reasonable and with the noise out of the club imagine we will sign him. However I don’t think we should get into any type of bidding war. If Moses wants to try and pull out a SL offer we should walk away and call his bluff
Moses should understand players don’t always sign with the highest offer after Mitchell Moses stayed with Parra. We should be able to play it the same way with Brooks if he prefers the club over SL or interstate option he will stay with us for less. Need to hold firm on this.
Personally, I wouldn’t offer Brooks a contract. I say that more for his mental well being. He needs a change of scenery where he can start fresh and without the pressure that Wests Tigers fans and media put on him. The club though will likely offer an extension because there is not much in the market place and our younger players are a few years away.

I agree hold firm on our offer just think 300k if another club is also holding an offer is ridiculous, would think 450k would be pretty fair if another SL club was offering 650k or something.
if we had offered before the parramatta game for 1 year we probably could have got 300k who knows but he is playing much better than what he was then so maybe other clubs come into contention like Canberra perhaps playing under Stuart has some appeal

Wendell is an absolute moron. He is as dumb as MG and Tallis.
I can’t agree with people who think we are going to get brooks for 400 or even 500k. He is a 200 game NRL half who has very obvious physical talent and who has been ruined by 10yrs of robotic garbage coaching and management failure. He is 2 months into a new coaching regime and he is playing the best as he has in at least 5 years. He is a Balmain junior who idolised Benji Marshall growing up and he was personally selected by Sheens as the clubs long term half before he got the sack. This guy is going no where.
@jedi-tiger there already is one from Leeds Rhinos . It came out a few weeks ago Brooks was their primary target .
I think I posted that article (stirring Jedi) and it was a typically made up article from the journalist putting two and two together. Nothing about an actual offer or even interest.
@tigertownsfs I get what you’re saying but he’s been a free agent for 7 months. Any team could have made him an offer, none have. If he wants to stay in Australia he’ll have to take what he can get. I’m not in support of offering $1 more than we have to.

I don’t think he is going to break the bank. Just saying you are not going to be able to pay your (currently only) half 500k. It’s just not how the game works. The guy will get 650-750 and that will be fine because most teams are paying their halves 900+. The key question is who is the other half we recruit to play with him. I tend to feel like it probably won’t be a mature half now that brooks is showing growth. Maybe Walker.

Journalists don't make articles up do they ? 🙂
