Just read a weird post from a Parra fan on another forum that the Tigers ahve let Joffa go, to try to get Frizzell. I seriously doubt it but would be one of the few reasons that would make this decision make sense.

I was told this at the game tonight.

this seems wrong. Surely joffa allows Blore to come into the 17. Where is frizelle going to play? He’s not a lock.

maybe Bateman moves to 13 and frizelle in the second row ?

Bateman is absolutely killing it where he is.

I know he is playing great but frizelle would add plenty to our pack, even if they play him from the bench. We tend to lose a bit of momentum when klemmer and stef go off for a rest, frizelle would help with that rotation and can play middle or second row. If we can get him for the right price he is worth it.

I'm not really interested in Frizelle, he is in the footnote of his career.

What a ridiculous move if true.

assuming joffa is gone, would you rather frizelle or Schuster ? I wouldn't mind Schuster if he was prepared to come here and play 13 not as keen if he comes here to play 6 though

Getting Frizell to play him through the middle doesn't make sense. May as well just keep Joffa.

Honestly and I know I am a little biased but I'd prefer Joffa.

Wests Tigers are considering making a play for Newcastle veteran Tyson Frizell who is on the cusp of an Origin recall.
The Tigers will have about $500,000 salary cap freed up next year as soon as they allow Joe Ofahengaue to join the Eels immediately. The decision to grant Ofahengaue a release from the remaining two-and-a-half years of his contract has now opened the door for the club to potentially make a move for Frizell who is off-contract at the end of the season.

From the Telegraph

Frizzell is obviously a good  player and I'd be happy to have him, but surely you dont let a play of Joes stature go for a player you might sign?

They’d be no point to let Joe go and sign Frizzle.

if that is how it goes we get sharks without hynes game 3

  1. Bye
  2. vs Raiders home - Campbelltown
  3. vs Titans away
  4. vs Storm home - Campbelltown w/out Origin players
  5. Bye
  6. vs Cowboys away
  7. vs Sharks home - Commbank w/out Origin players
  8. vs Knights away
  9. vs Dragons away
  10. vs Souths home - Scully park, Tamwort

Schuster looking good today - I know he’s inconsistent but he is definitely a talented player

defence would be an issue but jeez he would give teams something to worry about in attack, and might give Brooks a bit more room too.

Could he play 13 ? would he play 13 ?

i think he’d be a great ball playing 13 just don’t know if he would have the motor in defence

his early debut opportunities were limited and off the bench. Then he missed 2022 with an ACL. 2023 he hasn’t had a look in given our forward pack is stacked. Letting Joffa go is just a sensible business decision.  It’s a positive sign that we are in this position. Love the guy and think he’s been great for us but I would prefer we use his spot and dollars in other ways.

@the-last-ronin we would need a player on the bench like pole or something who can come on and replace him

I missed this weekends koe game but saw the week before against Souths and blore was running very hard. We’ve been very lucky in the forwards with injury this year, but it can’t last and when he is called up I reckon he will be hard to drop.
