I believe it would have been better to be up front with sheens at the start and explain why this role needed to be changed and if he doesn’t like it point out the dreadful start to the season and the HASTINGS error that has ruled us out of finals football for this year!
That is exactly how you deal with it. When making changes like this it is important to be open and honest to keep everyone on board. Buy in is difficult to achieve and easy to lose once you make people feel undervalued.

yep. My entire job is about buy in and generating change. I’m always focused on getting the change happen from the people I want to change. Some of my colleagues force it or just tell them what they want them to do and it always blows up in their faces.

If you don't bring them along on the ride they will never fully accept that change, though it can be very difficult to get buy in from someone as high up in the organisation as Sheens is. One thing that will never get buy in though is leaving people in the dark about decisions.

@cloudyglock if I’m not mistaken, Moses has a player option that expires after round 10? Are we saying Isaac Moses has got McDonnell fired because he didn’t get the deal for Mitchell that he wanted and that Fulton can give the Board the deal to agree to?

Moses player option is for significantly less than the Tigers or Eels deal for 2024. Moses will not be taking up the player option.

So he’s a free agent ….
Agree with Peter, Garry & Ronin
Always best to be up front and honest - and include your team in the process - they don't need to agree, but should feel like they've been included, valued and listened to.
In this situation, its the CEOs role to manage this process, in regards to consultation with staff.

I thought it was weird that Parra still haven't officially announced Moses signing- I guess unless he's signed the contract he's a free agent......
True, but I wouldn’t be losing too much sleep on the prospect of him doing a reversal now.
Wests Tigers Podcast - Talking everything Wests Tigers!
Manly has held top level talks with the Tigersabout a possible switch of colours for enigmatic five-eighth Josh Schuster.
The move of highly-regarded recruitment manager Scott Fulton, who is very close to Schuster, from the Sea Eagles to the Tigers last week, has got tongues wagging.
Schuster is an outstanding talent but has been plagued by attitude, fitness and injury issues throughout his career.
In the past week alone, Manly skipper Daly Cherry-Evans admitted Schuster was "at a crossroads", and suggested he wasn't working as hard at his injury recovery as he should.
Then a story broke over the weekend that Schuster had been involved in a scuffle with lower-grade clubmate Dean Matterson.
Schuster is contracted to the Sea Eagles until the end of next season on a whopping $800,000-a-season deal.
The Tigers aren't prepared to pay that amount - and the deal would only happen if Manly pays part of the bill or a player swap is thrown into the equation.
And what was the fight about? A tradition at Manly is that when a player gets a haircut, he gets a slap on the back of the head from teammates.
Schuster slapped Matterson harder than he liked at training… and it was on!

Not if he is told not to.

@helmesy Mole also responded to a tweet saying it could be a swap early for Talau. I guess the supporter base and coaching staff will find out more during Lee’s radio segment on SEN next week.
DCE’s comments on Schuster were pretty unprecedented. The huge question is whether he would bring that attitude to Wests. On balance I would say even though it’s not our priority it would be worth the risk to see if you could fix him, especially if Manly chip in enough dollars. What scares me though is that might mean Brooks stays at 7. I’m hoping there is one last innings to play in the Moses saga because that is our ticket out of the cellar. We have shown the competition our forward pack is the real deal and our young outside backs are coming through. It would not be crazy to think that a quality 7 could see that opportunity.
I would be very surprised if Schuster isn’t at WT in the coming weeks.
issue apparently is the 800k contract for Schuster tigers don't want to pay that much of it . Also think if dogs release Kyle flannagan to Manly that will increase a Schuster mid season move.
