@helmesy Joel do you do DISC type profiling for companies ? like Dominance influence steadiness compliance profiling that sort of thing ?
No, I primarily use Transactional Analysis for communication styles, ego states etc. I’m also very much into Optimism/Pessimism assessment - a very important aspect to be measured in the pro athlete (particularly at the recruitment/squad selection stage).

A healthy dose of pessimism can rip through a group of people.

All good as long as it is a healthy dose.

I thought Dillon, Dias and Rua looked good.

This guy
Rua Ngatikaura
Ngatikaura was arguably the best player in the Jersey Flegg side throughout 2021. A Wests junior, Rua captained the team, he led by example, driving the team culture on and off the field. Playing a similar role to Melbourne’s Brandon Smith, starting the game at hooker, Rua quite often filled the lock position during matches. He formed combinations with other middle forwards close to the try line, often resulting in points. His attitude was always on display, he worked tirelessly in middle defensively and encouraged those around him to meet the same standards.

I think this is a reflection of our standards and expectation as Tigers fans.
IMO Dillon looked like at some stage, he may reach the standard of a first grade player, but he isnt there yet and 100% not as fullback. He does not have the fundamentals for FB yet and Im not sure how you could be a FB and not know where to position yourself in defence or to catch. He looks quickish and seems to have good feet but there is a lot more than that required
For mine these two look like potential first graders, no more. Remember what Farah, Rowdy, Dwyer, Teddy and even Brooks looked like at the same stage?

Very excited by this Rua kid
Bought lots of energy which we are missing.
Can see him in the team in next 2 years - starting at 13, then moving to 9 in latter stage of each half - Brandon Smith style
Lock him in
Top 8 2023

That is a good point I watched all those play in the juniors and you just knew they had rep career ahead of them, Rowdy and Dwyer cut short due to injury. We do not have any players at that standard.

Further to that a lot of the junior players’ development has been seriously hamstrung due to Covid. After a few games under the belt,I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few make quantum leaps.

That’s a good point, for a development club we need no more Covid interruptions.

I fear we wont keep any decent juniors without some success and a strong coaching crew.

How would you rate Madge’s track record of bringing through youngsters?
